The history of temples in India is more than 5000 years old. In ancient times, people used temples for worship as well as for keeping wealth because stealing these things from the court of God was considered a sin, due to which people had a lot of fear of God, so people considered it safe to keep wealth in the temple. Apart from this, people's marriages, public functions, village panchayats and fairs etc. were organized in the courtyard of the temple. People used to see temples as the abode of God and avoided doing any bad work there and people also used to meditate in temples. It is now your responsibility to take the glorious history of the temples to the golden era. #TemplesAsCulturalHubs #CulturalHeritage #SanatanaDharma

In a moment of immense pride for India, Assam’s Moidams have been inscribed as the 43rd UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic recognition brings global attention to the unique 700-year-old mound burial system of the Ahom Kings at Charaideo, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Assam and Bharat. The journey of Moidams towards this prestigious recognition was spearheaded by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who nominated these ancient structures as India’s official entry in 2023. This nomination underscores the cultural and historical significance of the Moidams, making them the first cultural heritage site and the third overall site from the North East to be inscribed on the World Heritage list. The Moidams at Charaideo, often referred to as the ‘Pyramids of India’, are a series of grand, earthen mounds that serve as the burial sites for the Ahom royalty. These structures date back to the 13th century and showcase the intricate funerary practices and cosmological beliefs of the Tai-Ahom people. The Moidams are characterized by their hemispherical shape, brick structures, and octagonal boundary walls with arched gateways. The vaults contain the remains of the royals along with grave goods, symbolizing their stature and reverence in society. The inclusion of Moidams in the UNESCO World Heritage List is a testament to their outstanding universal value. The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) highlighted the Moidams' exceptional testimony to a cultural tradition and their representation of significant stages in human history. This recognition underscores the efforts of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Assam government in preserving these historic treasures. As we celebrate this achievement, it is essential to encourage visitors to explore the beauty and historical significance of the Moidams. Visiting Charaideo offers a glimpse into the region’s opulent history and the grandeur of the Ahom dynasty. Tourists can marvel at the architectural brilliance and the meticulous preservation efforts that have kept these structures intact. Additionally, it is crucial to promote the preservation of such monuments, which are abundant in India. The Moidams’ recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site serves as a reminder of the importance of conserving our cultural heritage for future generations. By visiting and supporting these sites, we contribute to their preservation and the broader narrative of India’s rich and diverse history. In celebrating the Moidams, we honour the past and look forward to a future where such legacies continue to inspire and educate. Let us cherish and preserve these invaluable treasures, ensuring they remain a source of pride and knowledge for generations to come. #MoidamsInUNESCO #AssamHeritage #AhomDynasty #IncredibleIndia #ExploreAssam #IndianHeritage #WorldHeritage #PreserveHistory #PrideOfAssam #PrideOfIndia #ExploreBharat #ExploreIndia

"If we can create a society which sees the child within every adult – and the adult within every child - we will finally start to change it for the better." We want to make the link between the skills we develop in early childhood and the core foundations that set us up for life and help us to thrive as adults. To help give social and emotional skills the greater priority they deserve, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has conducted a first-of-its-kind global listening exercise, involving experts from 21 countries around the world, to catalogue and identify the skills in this area that matter most throughout our lives. The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has undertaken work to find a common bridge and set of core skills that can apply equally to children and adults, so we can bring people together with a common language and vision to drive action at every level – protecting and strengthening these skills for current and future generations across the whole of society. Through this exercise we found consensus around a set of skills that we develop and nurture during early childhood, but that continue to be enhanced and refined as we grow into adults. They relate to knowing ourselves, managing our emotions, focusing our thoughts, communicating with others, nurturing our relationships, and exploring the world. These are the skills that lay the foundations for our positive future mental health and resilience throughout our lives. Healthy development of these core skills is not inevitable – they must be nurtured from our earliest moments of life. The foundations for these skills are laid in early childhood, between pregnancy and the age of five, which is why those earliest years represent such a golden opportunity to make a difference right from the start. But our social and emotional growth continues throughout our lifetime, and change is always possible. #ShapingUs

Hello Abuja, Today, as we gather to commemorate International Youth Day—a day that acknowledges the crucial role young people play in shaping our world's future—I am honored to stand in solidarity with the youth of our nation, particularly those in the FCT, and from around the world. I also wish to reaffirm our dedication to empowering them for a sustainable future. We stand at a critical juncture in human history, where the decisions we make today will shape the future of our planet. Climate change, inequality, and social injustice threaten our very existence. Yet, I stand before you with hope, inspired by the passion, creativity, and determination of our young people. Youth empowerment is not only a moral imperative but also an economic and social necessity. Investing in our youth means investing in our future. We must provide them with access to quality education, skills training, and opportunities for participation in decision-making processes. As leaders, we must create an enabling environment that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity. We must listen to their voices, value their perspectives, and support their initiatives. We must also address the systemic barriers that prevent many young people from reaching their full potential. To the young people of the FCT, I say this: we hear you, we see you, and we believe in you. We will work tirelessly to ensure you have the resources, support, and opportunities you need to thrive. Let us join forces to build a world that is just, equitable, and sustainable for all—a world where young people can grow, flourish, and lead. Happy International Youth Day! -Iretikingibe

Universal Morality and Positive Change: Solidifying a Brighter Future Traverse through the annals of human history, and you'll find a shared legacy of moral wisdom that transcends individual faith. Guidance from ancient scriptures, regardless of where they originate, presents us with a beautiful tapestry of virtues we can all learn from and aspire to nurture within ourselves. Across these diverse texts, one idea consistently resonates - our actions can shape our destiny. It's suggested not as a harsh decree, but an inspiration for introspection and positive transformation. Kind actions lead to blessings, while ones that are not virtuous could bring about challenges. This universal principle encourages continuous personal growth. Historical narratives, such as those involving the Children of Israel, offer dynamic life lessons. Their story indicates that even when life introduces disruptions, circumstances can change positively. This implies our potential for personal and collective reinvention. Disruptions and adversities do not appear as unavoidable punishments but instead as outcomes related to choices and actions. Choosing goodness, working on our virtues can significantly impact our paths. This acceptance of accountability, a shift towards empathy and compassion, is a common call found in spiritual teachings around the world. Embracing empathy and understanding, we hope individuals, regardless of their faith, recognize the opportunity to reflect and align with these common virtues. May these words inspire personal development, spiritual enlightenment, and the pursuit of societal harmony. The adage 'it's never too late' is indeed significant, encouraging us towards a harmonious path. In our shared space, let these principles serve as a constant reminder to cultivate virtues that bring about positive consequences. As a community, embracing responsibility and consciously adhering to these shared teachings can promote a peaceful coexistence. This, indeed, is a call to arms - to put aside differences and embrace the universal teachings available across various scriptures. Through this, we inspire love, compassion, and empathy. Collectively, we can frame a future marked by shared prosperity. Let's take up this journey together, fostering resilience and harmony in our communities.
