A China Eastern pilot used the A350's thrust reverser to reverse the aircraft on the bay as it hit the jet bridge. Using the thrust reverser of an A350 to reverse the aircraft would be the first time I have seen this. 2 May 2026, Shanghai Airport. Why did he use the thrust reverser twice? Why not just set the brake after the first time?

Specialists at the (UAC) continue working on the new import substituting SJ-100 aircraft. During the latest tests, They tested the PD-8 engine’s thrust reverser system. PD-8 engine is equipped with an electric sliding thrust reverser, which replaces traditional hydraulic systems.

The classic "clamshell"/bucket thrust reverser in action (I believe it's from a Nolinor Boeing 737-200 somewhere in Canada)

Just finished up on a Trent 700. Thrust reverser was throwing a fault. Cycled it a few times hoping it would sort itself out, but the lower right pivot door just would not close fully and sit flush. Not ideal. Rather than keep chasing it and risk a last-minute delay, we locked the whole reverser out, fitted the inhibition bolts, and deactivated it the proper way. Aircraft still goes, just without reverse on that side. These Trent 700s are solid engines overall, but the thrust reversers have a habit of throwing random faults that don’t always clear cleanly.
