The Pirates haven’t won a Paul Skenes start in over a month and are currently trailing the Marlins 2-1… Skenes has seen a dip in his fastball velocity this season and nobody in Pittsburgh seems to notice he’s holding the baseball with a different set of muscles this year…. Here he is last June holding the baseball with his interossei muscles (left video) compared to his flexor digitorum superficialis today (right video)…. The interossei originate on the hand, the FDS originate on the humerus…. This is why his hand & wrist orientation is so different at the top of his motion as well as at his follow through….

Anthony Kim has been working with golf coach Matt Killen, who has previously worked with Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods, and the main issue affecting consistency last year was his alignment: “Yeah, since I've been back playing golf, my shoulders have been right, my feet have been further right. So, I'm just trying to see my target before I hit the shot. “I've had a few people help me with the setup of golf clubs, but I’m really not working too much on my golf swing, just working on my setup. And if I can get that squared away, I know I can hit a lot of good shots.” AK was practicing down the range before every round on the Asian Tour last year using alignment sticks and doing a little shimmy to get the feels right. The swing is clearly still as pure as it’s always been and sometimes, it just takes getting the basics right to take the game to a new level. Now he’s a winner again after 16 years 👊

Kerry Carpenter has hit 83 HR’s since making his debut in 2022… Yordan Alvarez has hit 135 HR’s in that same time frame… Yordan hits using an open kinetic chain (femur moves on the pelvis)… Kerry hits using a closed kinetic chain (pelvis moves on the femur)…. An open kinetic chain is the “high level pattern” used by “all of the greats”. None of them ever used a closed kinetic chain like Kerry uses….. If you don’t believe that just compare video of their lead hip throughout the swinging motion Watch how different their pelvis moves when they launch their swing.

He had a 2.87 ERA over 166 IP last season… Andrew threw the ball with the muscles of motor tract 1 last season… He’s using motor tract 5 muscles this season… Watch how differently his left arm and left pec region move through his delivery… Consciously, he’s just throwing the ball….subconsciously his vestibulospinal tract (and others) are signaling different muscles to move his body…. Mesmerizing. 😍 Linn Grant is known for having one of the best golf swings on earth. First watch, you will focus on her club position in the backswing. But I’m kind of blown away by her left arm at top of swing. Its barely passed 90 degrees. Even with driver. Maybe I need to shorten my swing! I know so little about the golf swing lol.
