Time for consumers to do their homework this weekend. How did we build a 70 year low cattle herd in one week??! That’s a question for the ages my friends. You say no it’s because we might import. It’s a revolving door of sorts. -USDA announces that they’re going after packers - propaganda machine rolls - nothing happens - then we quietly import more beef in boxes and packers control price -they pay ranchers Less -Ranchers become unprofitable and cannot BUILD the herd!! We better focus on building domestic supply of healthy Beef that’s profitable and fair for consumers!🪓

The monopoly that the Big Four meat processing companies (Cargill, JBS, Tyson and National Beef) have on the market is a HUGE reason why beef prices are so high. Breaking up this monopoly is one of the most effective ways we can lower beef prices and this decision will help not only ranchers, but Americans in the long term. Positive news out of the admin, especially after last week’s decision to import 300,000 metric tons of foreign beef.

On 18 March, this year, we interacted with the University of Pretoria (UP). We thanked the VC for making submissions to the EFF Student Debt Bill, and asked about the rationale behind withholding certificates of graduates 🎓 Today, we wake up to the news that UP has launched a R 50 Million Campaign to clear debt and release withheld certificates. Although, the number is relatively low, this is a good initiative which will become a pressure point for our struggle against Student Debt. We will win! Here’s an example of our battle to build. Remember this calf that had a bad foot a while back. It required roping(not off my horse) and treating and it’s a hell of a job for one man of 57yrs old to do in harsh terrain. It requires years of experience of knowing what is needed and how to actually safely secure a 600# animal. It requires knowing how to treat the wound. Our problem is that nobody that isn’t generationally growing up with things like this know what to do or even want to do this job. If a Rancher has 3-4 kids it’s a stroke of luck for 1 to want this life! If a kid doesn’t grow up around it, it’s probably one in a million that would think to start this kind of life. The American beef herd has its back against the wall and we do not need unnecessary market manipulation to shut down an already fleeting culture. We need to build Ranchers almost as bad as we need to build the herd itself!🥩🇺🇸
