The underwater scene in "Pinocchio" was animated before the invention of modern scuba diving equipment. To make the underwater sequences as realistic as possible, the animators studied how light behaves underwater, how objects and characters move in water, and how shadows play in such an environment. They used some references from earlier diving expeditions, and the scene came out as a pioneering achievement in animation.

Misc stuff, reminding people my process for some sprites is drawing over them with a pixel brush then downscaling it (Big Boo/Boo Jackson sprite by @/Caliginous_arts)

Got behind on some environment stuff I was doing, so tried seeing what a Touro would look like up close for some motivation (a bit of animation + sfx work needed)

Tomb Raider (PS1) Lara has 15 swappable body parts. The game uses hand-painted Pixel Art Textures for Lara and enemies, and a mix of photos and pixel art to environment. Water animated w/ UV scrolling and flip-books.

11 Surprising Details… That I Only Found After Playing It Myself 👀 Some stuff genuinely caught me off guard while playing: • Less grind & better exploration rewards • Bigger cities?! • Seamless sailing in and out of ports • Dive anywhere underwater • Bigger underwater areas • Dynamic stealth (storms and shadows actually help) • Change time anytime • New wind system • Rogue winds • More manual ship combat • Brutal gun finishers Video ↓
