People of South they changed your name and gave you South South so that you will divide yourself from your brothers and you gladly bought the idea today they have started using your God given resources to develop their region and abandon you. The next thing they will tell you is if you allow Peter Obi he will divide Nigeria, what is more dividing of the Country than what Tinubu is doing now? Your brother Wike and Asari Dokubo were shouting.making noises here and there because they gave them peanut but the real money is being shifted to Yoruba land, were you aware that Tinubu is building two seaports in South West at a time one in Island and now another in Ogun state. The funny 😆🤣 thing here is that Ogun state is the state of Gov. Makinde that they told us is contesting for president with Tinubu, their rival did not reach for building infrastructure in their region but that of Peter Obi made everything that should have go to South East to be taken away from there. Umahi, Soludo, Hope, Mba and others including Cubana chief priest who were deceiving Igbo youths should now be ashamed of themselves. People of Niger Deltan should cover their faces in shame.. Yorubas have succeeded using the resources of the entire South to develop their region. A project of about $7bn worth of deep seaport will be carried out and Lagos coastal road is on action another seaport is at Island you are making mouth I am a Niger Deltan. Yoruba have deceived everybody and now arranging their region for going. Once it is done they will start threatening to leave you and face their region. Your people help them to chase former president GEJ out of office, they now support the drug lord and certificate forger to come and give them what they wanted and he is doing just that. The worse is that you are a slave to them now, you can even kpai your people in other to help Wike rig the election for Tinubu who will later abandon you final. What an irony

Anybody who still believes that this man called Tinubu is a friend to Igbos is very ridiculous and naive! He is just pretending, and you can see it through his government! He wants to open a Sea port in Ogun State whereas the East has been requesting for this opportunity for years! I don't really blame him, I blame the ignorant and sabotaging Igbos who Sycophantly support this criminal government to the expense of further developments in Igbo land! This will create a better opportunity in the West while the East is left aside! It will be very difficult for Nigeria to develop if we keep having racial sentiments and keeping the East aside mark my words!

This doesn't make any sense. Ogun State doesn't need any sea port looking at it's proximity to Lagos. Warri and Port Harcourt should be developed, that will automatically decongest Lagos. You can add Calabar that's all. Lagos will serve the SW, Kwara,Niger down to Sokoto Warri to serve Edo, Kogi, Abuja down to Kano PH and Calabar serve the rest of SS and SE, Benue, and the NE. Who does this planning?

I like this, SS and SE are ass lickers. GEJ was president for 6 years why couldn’t he do this for SS, Ameachi was minister of transport that was he able to do as well in the SS now Keyamo is there nothing nothing only to defend Tinubu they are good at….

Sensible leaders don’t leave what is important because of a roll call at the #UNGA. The Presidency is one institution. @KashimSM is Presidency enough for New York while President Tinubu focuses on other matters of strategic national importance. Serious nations understand the difference between symbolism and substance. Governance is about outcomes, not attendance registers. Nigeria was represented. Nigeria’s interests were protected. That is what matters. Great nations focus on results. Great leaders focus on priorities.

The gateway deep seaport is primarily a project of Ogun State government and Dubai based DP World ( global port and logistics operator) Federal government is only providing statutory regulatory supervision via NPA and Min of Blue Economy . Another stakeholder is sky capital, providing financial advice . I hope this helps a bit . @ARISEtv caption is deliberately mischievous and misleading . Nigerian journalists should always endeavour to be factual and honest . Rwanda was set on fire on the alter of misinformation by journalists . A word is enough for the wise

Ogun seaport is state owned in collaboration with private investors, so also is the Ondo seaport thats under construction. The comments here by these eastern cry babies is ridiculous. When these SW governors were wooing investors what were your governors doing ?

I laugh at the fools claiming we South South, we are not Igbo's!. Rather than make the port's in the southern region fully operational and functional they wanna build another port from scratch in the West!. And same would be the story had the north been open to the Ocean also!!. Una go learn no worry!.

Well I don’t blame the man, the people I blame and will blame are the ones that have and will enter and not develop their region. When a south east or south south man enters he should open up the other corridors that have been intentionally shut down just to congest Lagos corridor. Buhari was a tribalist and so Tinubu. No much complaining just vote him out let OBI the man that can unite the country take over . Period!

Are Warri, Onne, and Port Harcourt ports not capable of decongesting Lagos ports? By the time Tinubu finishes, South-south states will understand the politics of divide and conquer.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE IN PARIS, AS OGUN STATE, DP WORLD SIGN MOU ON DEEP SEA PORT, PRESIDENT TINUBU ASSURES INVESTORS OF REGULATORY CLARITY President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured domestic and foreign investors that the Federal Government would continue to provide regulatory clarity, policy stability and a predictable business environment to support long-term investment in Nigeria. The President spoke in Paris, France, at the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World, one of the world’s leading ports and logistics operators, to develop the Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone and the Gateway Deep Seaport. Governor Dapo Abiodun led the Ogun State Government delegation to the signing ceremony. The delegation included the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, and the Commissioners of Finance, Works, Industry, Trade and Investment, Transport, and a representative of the host community. Also at the event were the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Emmanuel Ayodele Oke, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, Group Chief Executive Officer, DP World, Yuvraj Narayan, Managing Director, SkyKapital, Karim Noujaim, and the Senior Vice President, Business Development, Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Office, DP World, Mohammed Rashid Ismail. "The agreements before us bring together vision, expertise, capital and execution capacity. I particularly welcome DP World, one of the world’s leading port and logistics operators. I also acknowledge our financial advisers, Sky Capital, and all the investors and partners whose commitment has brought us to this important stage,” the President said. President Tinubu assured investors that the Federal Government would provide the necessary regulatory and institutional support to move the projects seamlessly from agreements to implementation. He also stressed that the government would hold all parties accountable for their commitments, describing the agreements as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment, expand productive capacity and position the country as a major hub for maritime trade, logistics, manufacturing and exports. The proposed port at Ogun Waterside, with a four-kilometre berth and an 18-metre draft, would help decongest the Lagos port corridor, ease pressure on the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports, and reduce costs and delays for importers, exporters and consumers. It will accommodate the larger, deeper-draft vessels that support modern global commerce and provide a competitive trade and logistics gateway for the African Continental Free Trade Area, positioning Nigeria to serve a continental market of approximately 1.4 billion people. Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone is proposed to be accommodated on 10,000 hectares. “These agreements envisage an initial investment of more than $7 billion in the Nigerian economy. At full development, the projects are projected to create more than 50,000 direct jobs and many additional indirect opportunities, while generating substantial non-oil export earnings from Nigerians’ creativity and productivity across the value chain. “This is economic diversification made tangible. This is industrialisation made visible. This is Renewed Hope in action. I commend Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the Government and people of Ogun State, for securing the land, structuring the investment framework and reducing project risks for global investors. “This is cooperative federalism as envisaged by our Constitution: subnational vision supported by federal facilitation. “We will facilitate road, rail and power connectivity; strengthen investment security and our maritime domain; and remove unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles,” the President said.
