This rendering of the Kayou Sri Gauri is fantastic! For those who are not fully aware, the Kayou Sri Gauri was the official state anthem of the Mysore Kingdom during the reign of the Wodeyars. Composed by the court poet Basavappa Shastri in 1881 under the rule of Maharaja Chamarajendra Wodeyar, it was a prayer for the protection of the state from foreign influence after the British returned control of Mysore to the Wodeyars. Notably, Rabindranath Tagore sang this anthem during his visit to Bengaluru in 1919. His famous song 'Anando Loke' is said to have been inspired by this song. Cut to this day, the anthem is performed during key royal ceremonies, such as the grand Dasara festival, invoking Goddess Chamundeshwari to bless and protect the land and its people.

Cockroach is Back Abhijeet Dipke shared an edited version of the video. In the original footage, elephants are clearly visible at the end. During the procession, the central decorated elephant carries the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari in a 750 kg Golden Howdah. The Jamboo Savari tradition dates back to 1610, during the reign of Raja Wadiyar I, and has been held every year on Vijayadashami for over 400 years.

Am I wrong here??? My Uber driver went the wrong direction on the way to the airport and had to turn around, and now he STOPPED TO GET GAS!! I was already cutting it super close because it took 15 minutes for him to arrive to pick me up- but now I am 100% missing my flight. Can you guys please weigh in on this???? Uber_Support
