Britain privatized its water system in '89. Water bills are up. Outages occur. ⚠️And, "water companies discharged untreated waste into England’s rivers and seas 450,398 times in 2024." Private water companies are letting infrastructure disintegrate, too.

@wendywh30338921 Why should people be surprised by Conservative governments wanting to privatize any public service that benefits everyone? Conservatives are for making money and monopolizing services to benefit donars. Always remember your vote counts even when you do not vote your affected.

The state has set aside $430 million to make this happen, but earlier plans to desalinate ocean water were ditched because of their $5.5 billion price tag. Apparently, affordable water solutions are harder to find than rain in the desert. To make things worse, Arizona’s water agency just had $500 million yanked from its budget—talk about bad timing. Officials are now inviting companies to pitch solutions, with the review process starting in early 2025. But completing the project could take up to 15 years.
