India Is a Democracy in Name Only Umar Khalid has been in jail for 5 years WITHOUT any trial... When questioned, Former CJI Chandrachud says that Umar Khalid himself withdrew his bail application, HIDING the fact that the Judge was the Law Secretary to the Modi Govt in Gujarat.

Umar Khalid has been in jail for more than five years without a trial. His only crime is that he is a nationalist and stands against the RSS. Tomorrow Supreme Court of India will hear his bail petition. Hope this man finally gets the justice he truly deserves 🥹❤️

Umar Khalid has been in jail since 14 September 2020. He has not faced trial. He has been denied bail, again and again. In this video, Umar’s friends read out excerpts from a piece he wrote from inside Tihar Jail for The Quint. From referencing Dostoyevsky’s The House of the Dead to telling the story of a prisoner who spent 29 years in jail without parole, Umar Khalid writes about hope, despair, and what it means to live between life and death.

Five years is time enough for people to fall in love, marry, and raise children, Umar Khalid says, but he has spent that time in jail for a crime he hasn’t even been proven guilty of. In a letter from Delhi's Tihar Jail, Umar Khalid has written that he’s ‘no longer an optimist’.

Abhijeet Dipke remembers Umar Khalid on his birthday and asks everyone to read Umar Khalid’s book. 😂 Yes, the same Umar Khalid who has been in jail for the last six years under the UAPA, alongside charges of criminal conspiracy, rioting, and murder in connection with the Delhi riots. You can imagine what all Umar Khalid must have written in his book - blaming Modi, the RSS, the RW, and the Indian Army for every wrong thing. 🤣 This is what Abhijeet Dipke promotes, and this is what the entire CJP and their protest are about.

If voices of Umar & others for democracy were weak or insignificant, then they wouldn't have been in jail for more than 1500 days, without bail Or trial! Our voices matter. That's why state tries to silence us! Keep raising your voices for justice! #umarkhalid1500daysinjail
