Today I challenged the Mayor over Labour's refusal to remove the Two Child Benefit Cap brought in by the Tories in 2017. His angry outburst was shocking - and he still refused to answer the question. #LiftTheCap

Mayor @SadiqKhan should get his facts right. He falsely blamed the #LibDems for the #TwoChildBenefitCap, which was a Tory policy introduced in 2017 by a #Tory government. What's his excuse for not pushing the #Labour govt to scrap it? #ChildPoverty

At least allow him to answer - instead of continiously interrupting him. That way we know what his position is here.

@swklibdems Gosh that was shocking. Well done for keeping your cool and keeping to the point.

Well done Hina. He should be ashamed.

Very on brand for Labour to immediately pivot to 14 years ago when asked to comment on something they're doing (or should be doing) right this second.

It’s worth remembering that Labour had planned deeper austerity in 2010 had they won.

You were extremely rude and aggressive. That is no way to elicit answers from anyone. Learn some diplomacy and tact and you'll achieve more.

.@MayorofLondon Really? This is not a good look, Sadiq. I'm disappointed in you. Well done for calling it out, Hina. 🔶️🔶️🔶️

It was brought in by the Government. A Mayor has no remit to even consider it, there is nothing a Mayor can do about it, so why ask?

@SuttonLibDems Typical Labour. They think because that "austerity" line plays well with Labour activists that they can use it to deflect any criticism. Nobody outside their party is buying it.
