The warriors of the 95th Polissia Separate Air Assault Brigade are carrying out missions in the Oleksandrivskyi sector. It is one of the brigades that has made a significant contribution to preserving our state. Brave, strong, and absolutely honest warriors who look the enemy in the eye, are not afraid, and know that more of the enemy must be destroyed – then Ukraine will win. I received a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the front. Despite the announced ceasefire, the enemy has not reduced the intensity of its assaults. Today, I made the decision to renew the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I am grateful to General Zaluzhnyi for two years of defense. I appreciate every victory we have achieved together, thanks to all the Ukrainian warriors who are heroically carrying this war on their shoulders. We candidly discussed issues in the army that require change. Urgent change. I proposed to General Zaluzhnyi that we further remain together on the Ukrainian state team. I will be grateful for his acceptance of this proposal. Starting today, a new management team will take over leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I had dozens of conversations with commanders at various levels. I spoke, in particular, with brigade generals Andriy Hnatov, Mykhailo Drapatyi, and Ihor Skybiuk, as well as colonels Pavlo Palisa and Vadym Sukharevskyi. They are all being considered for army leadership positions, and they will be led by Ukraine's most experienced commander. He has successful defensive experience, particularly in the Kyiv defense operation. He also has successful offensive experience, particularly in the Kharkiv liberation operation. I appointed Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is not about surnames, and surely not about politics. This is about our army system, about the management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and about involving the experience of this war’s combat-hardened commanders. 2024 can become successful for Ukraine only through effective changes in the basis of our defense, which is the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We hope the Russian side fulfills its part of these humanitarian commitments as agreed. Command post of the 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhanska Brigade. The warriors are currently defending Slovyansk from the north – the Yampil and Siversk directions. I spoke with the defenders and presented them with state awards. I thank the fighters for their service. The brigade commander also delivered a briefing on the operational situation. I also held a meeting on the security situation in the Donetsk region with military officials and government representatives. The main topics included preparing the region for the next heating season, protecting critical infrastructure, road repairs along evacuation routes in the region, the operational situation in the Donetsk region, measures for the defense of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, and counter-sabotage activities in the region. We are working to strengthen our positions and support our people.

Today, I had a discussion with the Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, to analyze the performance of the ministry and our defense sector enterprises. We have achieved significant results in various areas, including armored vehicles, drones, and artillery. I am grateful to everyone working in our defense industry. It's evident that this sector is becoming much stronger and more efficient. Importantly, we are now seeing substantial foreign investment in our defense production, alongside state budget funds. This is a major accomplishment for us. Today, we also set new tasks for Ukroboronprom and our missile industry. In many areas, we have moved beyond just potential or specific results to actual deliveries for our Defense and Security Forces—deliveries that are continuously increasing. Additionally, we are preparing to enhance the quantity and quality of our long-range drones. Ukraine will always be capable of defending its interests.

Over the course of the day, all of Ukraine's Defense Forces units managed to partially stabilize the situation in the Kharkiv region, where our defense operations continue in the border areas and near Vovchansk. The occupiers who have entered the Kharkiv region are being destroyed with all means. Our artillery, drones, and infantry are all operating with accuracy. And I want to thank everyone who is in positions right now. We also focus on other directions in the Donetsk region, as well as Pokrovsk and Kupyansk directions in the Kharkiv region. We can clearly see how the occupiers are attempting to stretch our forces thin and make our combat work less concentrated. We react appropriately: in every direction, we must have the means to respond to the enemy. I also want to thank every state that consistently and timely supports our country and people. The world possesses the strength, weapons, and capability to force Russia into peace, a just peace. To accomplish this, we must all make every effort now to ensure that Russia's offensive actions and attempt to expand the war fail.
