[WATCH] We are in Cape Town today for the Special National Executive Committee Meeting of the African National Congress. The Special NEC meeting is convened specifically to focus on the post constitutional court judgement. The NEC through the Secretary-General and spokesperson released a statement where we stated that we note that judgement and will follow with the position of the ANC. We have discussed the matter as the Top 7 of the ANC and will table our report for the NEC to discuss. The President is not in attendance as he is the subject matter. This special NEC meeting is about briefing the NEC members and discussing the report which I will table as the SG.

[WATCH] We have arrived at the Mahlamba Family home in Ekhanda Village, Nquthu where the final viewing of our fallen comrade Dr Ntuthuko Mahlamba is taking place. Accompanying me are the ANC KwaZulu-Natal Leaders led by Cde Mike Mabuyakulu and Cde James Nxumalo. We are also joined by the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Mr Thami Ntuli. Today we lay him at his final resting place where he joins many other ANC activists who have served the movement diligently and now have joined the ancestors. #ANCatWORK

[WATCH] IMMIGRATION CHALLENGES As the ANC when it comes to the issues of immigration we support the rule of law and that it must dictate what must actually happen. People can’t take the law onto their hands because we have laws and we not a banana republic. The state must intervene and we will reflect as the NEC on the way forward and will come out with a comprehensive response. We are a constitutional democracy and everyone has a right to protest within the perimeters of the law. We can’t have vigilantism and the state must take the lead. #ANCatWORK

During this important visit, we will also participate in the first formal, face-to-face Board of Trustees Meeting of the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School, taking place from 4–5 March 2026 and hosted at the School itself.
