To the CBC, diversity seems to stop at appearances. Diversity of thought and belief is sidelined. The CBC maintains a blacklist and cancels panels that challenge Liberal viewpoints. CBC refused to include a comment from Pierre Poilievre to balance their coverage of Carney’s press conference. Pierre spoke and took questions for 56 minutes. (Video below) The CBC included 0% of it. The CBC is the state broadcaster and only exists because Canadians are forced to pay for it through their taxes. The very least it can do is cover all sides of the issues.

We commend Dr. Arsalan Kahnemuyipour and the many Iranian Canadians who wrote to CBC to demand an honest portrayal of the protests and violence in Iran. Last week, Power & Politics platformed a spokesperson from an organization repeating Islamic Regime talking points and blaming events on “foreign governments.” Yesterday, Dr. Kahnemuyipour set the record straight, amplifying the voices of Iranian Canadians—many of whom have lost loved ones. While the host apologized, this points to a deeper systemic problem at the public broadcaster. The CBC must be held accountable and not continue to platform voices claiming to represent Canadians while advancing narratives of the Islamic Regime and the terror groups it supports. Despite funding the CBC to the tune of $1.5 billion, the Prime Minister chose to give his state-of-the-union address on an American tech platform instead of Canada’s public broadcaster. At the same time, his entire speech was about making sure canada doesn’t sell out to America. The hypocrisy couldn’t be more clear. Is it because CBC’s viewership is dwindling? #CBC #cdnpoli
