Dear Suvendhu Da, It’s ironic to see your sudden concern for Kolkata’s infrastructure while conveniently ignoring similar tragedies in BJP-ruled states. Let’s refresh your memory: 1.Morbi Bridge Collapse, Gujarat (2022) - 135 lives were lost due to gross negligence and lack of oversight. Did the BJP-led Gujarat government take responsibility, or was it brushed aside like every other disaster under BJP rule? 2.Wall Collapse in Noida (2022) - In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, 4 construction workers lost their lives due to illegal and poorly supervised construction. Where was your outrage then? 3.Indore Temple Stepwell Tragedy (2023) - 36 lives were lost due to encroachments and negligence in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh. Any calls for resignations there? Your party has mastered the art of blaming others while turning a blind eye to its own failures. The truth is, issues like illegal constructions and nexus with promoters aren’t exclusive to Bengal but are widespread in BJP-ruled states as well. Instead of politicizing human tragedies, why not address corruption and negligence within your own party’s governance first? Perhaps if BJP leaders spent less time in rallies and more time ensuring proper governance in their states, such tragedies could actually be avoided. Please come ahead and do such a rally in those places as well!

I strongly condemn the arrest of BJP West Bengal MLA; Shri Ambika Roy by the Mamata Police, who was only supporting the People of Kalyani and stood up for a just cause and fair demand. A Boundary Wall was being illegally constructed under the supervision of the Kalyani Municipality in the Kacharipara area, which is to be used as a Dumping Ground. The local people objected as because the Dumping Ground with in the confines of the Municipality Area would make the area unlivable for the residents as it would be a breeding ground of mosquitoes & insects and would continuously spread foul smell in the area. There is most probably a Status Quo imposed by the Court regarding the construction, but the TMC run Municipality went ahead anyway, without caring about the Court's Order.

Now Hindus can't even celebrate Kali Puja in West Bengal. This is the current condition of KMC Ward 80 in Kolkata Port, the den of Kolkata's Mayor Firhad Hakim, who proudly refers to this area as "Mini Pakistan" and recently gave a clarion call to convert everyone to Islam. After Lake Town, Fansideoya, Dakshindari, Usti and Rajabazar-Narkeldanga, yet another attack on Hindus reported from Kolkata. Hindus have been mercilessly attacked, property vandalized in Sick Line area of Ward 80, Garden Reach, Kolkata. Anwar Khan is the local councillor and Firhad Hakim the MLA. Late at night, a mob carried out attacks on Temples and pandals in the area. Kolkata, like rest of West Bengal, has become a tinder box. Forced demographic change and Mamata Banerjee’s brazen appeasement has gone too far. She is not in control of the administration anymore. Also, I demanded that fair compensation must be paid to the Flat-owners who are losing their homes due to the hush hush demolition order issued by the KMC without engaging with the stakeholders to cover up the widespread prevailing corruption of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, which has led to the situation that, every other day news of buildings tilting precariously against one another is surfacing.

The entire matter is that a fire broke out in a building in the Tiljala area of Kolkata, in which 2 people died and 3 people were seriously burnt. The investigation stated that work was being carried out there illegally without an approved building plan, and basic rules of fire safety and electrical safety were not followed. Based on this report, the state administration declared the structure illegal and ordered its demolition. Along with this, the owner and another person were also arrested.

Back in 2019, Kolkata was identified at one of the Top 10 most polluted cities by the National Clean Air Program (NCAP). Today, it fills my heart with pride that Kolkata has no position even in the top 20 polluted cities in India! There were targets given to each of the cities for air pollution reduction & the Govt of India's report says, KMC has been able to achieve 75 % of the target given to Kolkata. Many other polluted metro cities have even failed to achieve 25 % of the target that KMC has accomplished! I thank Professor Abhijit Chatterjee of Bose Institute for his valuable suggestions & the countless officials of KMC for taking stringent & immediate action for effective solid waste management, phasing out old polluting vehicles, increasing number of electric vehicles & surveillance over polluting industries in Kolkata! I appeal to all the citizens of Kolkata to come forward & fight together for Kolkata. It is not only a mission of the KMC but also of all the citizens of Kolkata!

Today, I was honoured to take part in the Nari Samman Yatra in Bolpur, organized by the BJP Bolpur Organizational District, to raise our voices against the disrespect and abuse faced by women in our state. The recent derogatory remarks by TMC leader Anubrata Mondal against the family of a Police Officer are not just an attack on an individual but an insult to the dignity of all women in Bengal. This cannot be tolerated. Despite having a woman Chief Minister, the safety and honour of women remain under threat in West Bengal. From the RG Kar incident to the appalling language used by TMC leaders, it is clear that the ruling party has no regard for 'Nari Samman'. The people of Bolpur showed their strength and resolve today, joining us in thousands to demand justice and respect for women. The Nari Samman Yatra is not just a mere protest march; it is a movement to awaken the conscience of Bengal and hold those in power accountable.
