AI + hardware presents a truly significant opportunity. Software enables recording and display, while hardware is what truly delivers the experience. In the past, displays were fixed, thus limiting the experience due to the fixed software interface. Today, generating software interfaces has become extremely simple, making the experience increasingly important.

This is a really interesting direction. It’s not just “personal AI” anymore, it feels more like something that accumulates context, memory, and intent over time, almost like an extension of your own thinking. If this actually works, the value shifts away from the model itself and toward the relationship between the user and the system, and that relationship compounds the more you use it, making it much harder to replace. At that point it stops being just software and starts becoming a way of offloading parts of how you think, and the real question is no longer how smart the AI is, but how much of you ends up living inside it.

Interesting because the ambition is clearly moving beyond prompt/response. The target is a system with memory, continuity, and enough personalization to function less like a tool and more like a standing cognitive delegate.

I truly believe Brett will be the next visionary of our time, he is already building technology at a pace only Elon Musk was capable of. For example while Optimus is still being teleoperated at demos, Figure robots are already generating massive impact with the Helix 3 model. It is completely autonomous. People don't understand yet the difference. It's like when you show a prototype vs when you are capable of deploying a real production version (orders of magnitude of difference).

Deeply surprised basically nobody covered this. Hark already has hardware in the lab, and Brett Adcock describes it as “sci-fi movie hardware.” They’re building the hardware alongside a much more ‘multimodal’ version of Hark, with computer use improving ‘month over month’ and browser + iPhone + Android access coming next. One thing I really like about listening to Brett talk about AI is that it feels like a breath of fresh air. He doesn’t get lost in MCP, agent frameworks, tokenomics, BS. He basically just tells you what AGI should feel like in the real world, and even if some of that is obviously “fundraising speak,” I think he’s right. Current models are optimized for text and coding, but they still feel stale in day to day use. Voice is getting better, computer use is getting better, and OpenAI is clearly moving in the right direction, but I still don’t get that deeply expressive, AGI - esque feeling I expected. Anthropic gets closer because Claude can feel unusually intelligent and expressive, although sometimes even that feels like a model heavily reward hacked to sound personal rather than some deeply abundant intelligence, - more like a homunculus that’s distilled from a human brain consider considering AI NN’s are still nothing compared to ours. Brett’s framing was basically “The models need to get a lot more multimodal. They need to get a lot more expressive.” He also said “the text and coding is just not enough for us to really have a real AGI feeling with AI,” and then on the hardware portion he said “We actually have hardware in the lab now… it’s crazy shit. The stuff is like sci-fi movie hardware.”

But just like if you have a child that is a super genius child, you can still instill in that child the values and beliefs that you think are good and right. And so that’s why it’s incredibly important that we succeed with Grok. So, yeah, well, Grok 4.5 you’ve tried probably. We’ve got 4.6 coming out in about a week. And then 4.7 should be really pretty special. So I’d like to encourage everyone at SpaceX to use AI and to make it better.”

The intelligence we are building is not artificial. It never was. Microsoft Chief Scientific Officer Eric Horvitz just reframed the entire foundation of the AI arms race with one sentence. The tech industry calls it Artificial Intelligence. That word is wrong. Horvitz: “I don’t actually like the term artificial intelligence. I wish the field was called computational intelligence because I think it applies to biological nervous systems as well as machines, and together we can go far.” We are not building a digital imitation of the human brain. We are scaling the exact same computational physics that created biological awareness and transferring it into silicon. Your mind and a massive AI data center run on the same underlying rules. The transition isn’t artificial. It is universal. And here is where it gets deeply unsettling. Tech optimists always fall back on the same comfort. Humans hold the steering wheel. Our values guide the machine. Horvitz acknowledges this. Horvitz: “We’ll take a humanistic standpoint here, always being on top of things and guiding with our values and our preferences and our goals.” Then the caveat that changes everything. Horvitz: “As much as they might be shaped over time by the machines we work with.” You cannot interact with a superintelligence at scale without it quietly rewiring your psychological baseline. The values you use to command the machine will be shaped by the machine you are commanding. The frameworks you use to perceive reality will be constructed by the system you believe you are directing. That feedback loop started the moment you asked an AI what to think about something. Most people haven’t noticed yet. Horvitz: “I think in our own lifetimes we will all experience incredible breakthroughs in understanding biology, with applications in medicine, in healthcare, that will be named as AI breakthroughs.” Horvitz: “It’s gonna accelerate over the next 10 to 15 years.” Because biological systems and machine networks both operate on computational intelligence, a sufficiently advanced AI can solve the human body like a math equation. The architects who win the next decade will not just control the digital economy. They will control the physical building blocks of life itself. The line between silicon and carbon was always an illusion. And once humanity fully realizes that, the question of whether we are using the intelligence or it is using us becomes impossible to answer. Because by then, we will be the same thing.
