This guy is such an embarrassment. Today, Mayor Brandon Johnson doubled down on his idiotic September "jails, and incarceration, and law enforcement is a sickness that has not led to safe communities" comment, but with a tad less passion. Johnson said "it's boneheaded" to rely on incarceration to improve public safety. Johnson then attempted to claim mayors who share his progressive theology are all experiencing drops in crime. Johnson specifically cited Baltimore and LA. Johnson forgot to mention a wee detail: Those cities unseated incompetent prosecutors. Voters in Baltimore replaced Marilyn Mosby with Ivan Bates, and in LA, George Gascon was ousted by Nate Hochman. Predictably, Johnson refused to acknowledge the role Eileen O'Neill Burke has played in Chicago's lower crime rates. It's not "investing in people" or "affordable housing," Mr. Mayor. It's prosecuting criminals.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson had a ridiculous meltdown on Tuesday when asked what he’s going to do to bring crime down if he refuses federal help. He said crime is down and he’s using every tool available to him, except federal, of course. Johnson then says “jails, and incarceration, and law enforcement is a sickness that has not led to safe communities.” With an attitude like that it’s no surprise that Chicago has more m*rders than any other city in the US for 13 years straight. Johnson also plays the race card, of course, during his angry yelling. He says he’ll help the people in this community because they’ll black like him. (nbcchicago on TT)
