This is between Àgbàdo and Agege. I was on the train while I took the video. If there is any way the Lagos State government can find a home for them, it would be better. Living like that makes them readily available for any use. Some of them commit crimes too. You can only imagine what life would be like at night in the areas where those things are built. Never seen this video until today but boy does Milton Friedman nail it in 1978. In 1978, Milton Friedman explains that the government bears no responsibility for alleviating poverty and that’s it is up to individuals to take action. He argued that the most effective way for people to exercise this responsibility is through the free enterprise system and the free market, which, in his view, have historically been the most powerful tools for reducing poverty. Now you can argue today that we don’t have a complete free enterprise system and I agree with that, but I haven’t seen anyone get out of poverty once they get on that government crack of free money for nothing.

When I am at the gym and I see somebody’s water bottle there or a towel or something. I know they just stepped away for a moment and that the machine is occupied. Out of respect I won’t move it out of the way only for them to come back and have to explain themselves anyways. This young lady on the machine left her water bottle on it because she stepped away for a moment to use the restroom only for somebody else to come by and try to use it in her place. Would you have understood the etiquette or is it just a free for all? When I first started working out I was unfamiliar with the gym etiquette. Some people just got done with a hard set and need to stand up and walk for a few moneys or get a drink of water and they use it as their rest period so that they can go back at it. Interrupting that process is the same thing as booting them off the machine mid workout. It’s rude and uncalled for but why does it keep happening? I think what it is, is that some people are very judgmental, they see others and think that they are more serious about working out than the other person so that to them it means they are entitled to use it first because their workouts are more important. I used to let them do that to me but no more. I treat it as first come first serve, if they don’t want to wait then maybe they need to avoid the gym during peak hours. This is the very reason I work out in the middle of the night most of the time. I rather not be bothered and if I need to take my time I can, most of the time nobody else is even there anyways when I go.

This group of friends were celebrating a birthday, they had brought heir own cake in which was purchased at a high end bakery in the area. The server said they could use that cake instead of theirs but it would be a $400 cutting fee so they cut it themselves outside, I would do the same, that price is outrageous. There was a time in Hudson, Ohio where we went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was upscale but wasn’t like a 4 star place or anything. When I booked the reservation for 4 people we told them it was for a birthday. I asked them specifically if I was allowed to bring our own cake, our friend has food allergies and I had to get his cake at a specialty place that made a gluten free cake. They said it shouldn’t be an issue. They checked with the manager and the manager said it was ok. After having our dinner we were ready to do the cake. So I went to the car to get it so I could surprise him. At the door I was stopped by the hostess who told me it was against the rules to bring outside food in. I mentioned that I was told by a manager that it would be ok. They asked when I called and I said it was two days ago when they opened at 11am. She said well that was the day shift manager and he wasn’t there. She said we couldn’t bring in outside cake or food but they were happy to sell me one for $100. I said pass and I ended up just giving him the cake outside in the box as a gift so he could enjoy it at home.
