This man is a GenX’er and he realized a long time ago that there was going to be no retirement for him. “I sold all the things that I had, cashed in my retirement, and purchased some land out here in Tennessee to live on. And now what I have to do is pay for permission to live on this land, buy permits, and I also have to pay taxes, every year, whatever amount they decide, forever, in this land of the “free”. You can never escape this system they have built for us. There is no end to it. It goes on forever, until you die. Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna argued to me that wealthy people need to pay more tax and use it to fund so called "free" programs. I posed a very simple question: What does the government do better than private enterprise? His answer claimed that NASA does more than Elon Musk, that the military does better than private enterprise (which is nonsensical since no private version exists to compare it with) and that Operation Warp Speed was evidence of government doing better than private enterprise. Again, this was nonsense in my view because not only do I disagree with the outcomes of OWS but it was free enterprise working with government. My final view: If the government asked me to look at their books and analyze their business, I’d tell them that "You not only need to be shut down, you need to be arrested because you are so incompetent you should be jailed for it." Milton Friedman discusses five myths: those concerning the robber barons, the Depression, the public's demand for government, the idea of a free lunch, and who in fact ends up receiving the transferred wealth. He states that the industrialists in the 19th century became wealthy through production rather than through appropriation, and that no other period achieved a faster improvement in the standard of living for the average person. When looking at the transition from the Depression to the free lunch, note that every way a government adopts to generate money eventually comes back to the same person, and he refers to that person. This is a massive club with which to thud Putin on the bonce. The problem is that Putin isn’t sure that United States is committed to a free, sovereign, independent Ukraine. Trump has to say to Putin: “I want this war to end. I want you out. I want you to stop, and recognize that Ukraine is a free country.” If he said that, coupled it with real willingness to use Russia sanctions in this bill, that would have powerful effect in the Kremlin. And we haven’t, we’ve had a long time now, a long buildup, we haven’t seen that. There’s a massive opportunity for Trump.
