In Uganda, the right of way is legally defined under Section 123 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act (1998) and the Highway Code, prioritising emergency vehicles and top state officials. According to guidelines from the Ministry of Works and Transport and the Uganda Police Force, the right of way should be given in the following order; 1. Authorized Emergency Vehicles (Active Duty) Ambulances (with patients/active emergency),FireBrigade trucks,Police Vehicles responding to emergencies,Military Vehicles. Note: These must be actively signalling (sirens/lights) to demand right of way. 2. When you see flashing lights and hear sirens, pull to the right and come to a complete stop. This is what deputies, firefighters, and paramedics are trained to expect. It keeps everyone safe and helps us reach emergencies as quickly as possible. In this video, Deputy Lopez is responding to a high-priority call involving public and family safety. Here are some interesting facts about the fire in Maui that should make you ask questions. The governor, emergency management admin, fire chief, lieutenant governor, and attorney general were not on the island when the fire broke out. So the 2 most critical emergency officials were AWOL. The emergency alert system also wasn't activated and there are 400 sirens all over the state. The only system they activated was the cellphone alerts, but those comms were down too for some people, with many residents reporting they had zero warnings, some reporting that officials and police told them to stay and they'd be safe just a few hours before engulfing the area. Lastly, they didn't have enough firefighters and equipment. Apparently there were only 60+ firefighters across the 3 islands, and the administrators said they didn't address the fires until they were already at the populated areas and unstoppable. The alarm bells of a conspiracy should be ringing in everyone's head right now.
