While speech models learn from hundreds of thousands of hours of data, sign language models often have only a fraction of that. That means researchers and companies building sign language technology are often forced to start from scratch, work with fragmented datasets.

We’ve experienced that problem firsthand and we believe that needs to change. The Talksign Marketplace is a place where signers, Deaf communities, researchers, and organisations can contribute, annotate, and license sign language data while getting paid whenever it's used.

Over the past few months, we've been working with Deaf contributors, linguists, and researchers to build our first American Sign Language (ASL) datasets. But this is just the beginning.

And yes, we added a verificaion layer. Every dataset listed on the Marketplace can be checked through our verification portal at A buyer, a contributor, or an outside researcher can confirm what a dataset actually is before anyone builds on it.
