The key priority is working on strengthening our defense and obtaining licenses from the United States for the production of air defense equipment. We also spoke about adding new contributions to PURL. This initiative is very helpful in protecting lives, and it is essential that deliveries of anti-ballistic missiles be as swift as possible. In a trilateral format with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer and Mark Rutte Mark Rutte, we discussed joint weapons production and coordination in this direction to strengthen Ukraine and all of Europe. It is important to continue strengthening our air defense and ensuring it has a sufficient number of missiles for air defense systems. In particular, the decisions adopted during the Ramstein-format meeting must be implemented as soon as possible, and the PURL initiative must be replenished with additional contributions. I thank Keir and Mark for their efforts to support Ukraine and to maintain focus on Ukraine and the swiftest possible achievement of a dignified peace.

During a meeting with Prime Minister of Romania Ilie Ilie Bolojan, we discussed defense support. I thank Romania for its military assistance and contributions to the PURL initiative. Strengthening air defense is a priority for Ukraine. It is important to develop the energy network between our countries, which will help Ukraine amid shortages caused by ongoing Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure, and also support Romania when we have a surplus and can export electricity. Therefore, cooperation in the energy sector was also a key topic of our discussion. Particular attention was given to expanding border crossing points between Ukraine and Romania. We also discussed work on an intergovernmental agreement on joint oversight at the Ukraine–Romania border crossings. I thank Ilie Bolojan for the meeting and for his support of Ukraine.

We discussed the possibilities of using frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine and all potential avenues of cooperation, including a new program aimed at supporting our country’s resilience in the coming years. We agreed on further close cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the IMF. We devoted special attention to Russia’s violations of the airspace of NATO member states, including on September 22 in Copenhagen. We exchanged views on the reasons. If there is no resolute response from the allies – both states and institutions – to aggressive provocations, Russia will continue them.
