Caitlin Long says tokenized securities are dragging banks into tokenized deposits, and predicts stablecoins get squeezed out "I switched from working on tokenized securities to tokenized dollars, because to me, until we have a tokenized dollar, you're not going to have the real benefits of tokenized assets, including securities, commodities, derivatives, loans. 🚨SEC OFFICIALLY GREENLIT TOKENIZED U.S. STOCK TRADING🚨 $XRP, $XLM and $HBAR have been building toward this moment for years. I went through the actual SEC order, and one detail changes how I look at all three. The SEC’s new five-year Innovation Exemption allows qualifying Tokenized Securities Venues to trade real tokenized U.S. stocks through permissioned AMMs and liquidity pools on public blockchains. These tokenized shares must preserve the rights of the underlying stock. But here is the part that matters for crypto. A tokenized U.S. stock can be paired with a non-security crypto asset. And the SEC specifically says the exemption does not limit which type of non-security crypto asset a venue can choose. Now go back six months. The SEC’s March interpretation explicitly listed: XRP XLM HBAR as examples of digital commodities. Read those two developments together. For the first time, I can look at a federal framework where a real tokenized U.S. stock and assets like XRP, XLM or HBAR can potentially exist on opposite sides of the same regulated onchain market. Think: Tokenized stock / XRP Tokenized stock / XLM Tokenized stock / HBAR The real opportunity is not a few network fees. It is liquidity. If a professional market maker supports one of those pools, it needs inventory of the paired asset. That is a completely different type of demand. And these three ecosystems have not been sitting around waiting for tokenization to arrive. Ripple and Aviva Investors are already exploring traditional fund tokenization on XRPL. XRPL has native trading infrastructure, AMMs, credentials, permissioning and tokenization tools. Stellar already hosts roughly $4B in tokenized assets, and DTCC/DTC plans to connect its tokenization service to Stellar, with Russell 1000 stocks, major ETFs and U.S. Treasuries among the asset classes being evaluated. Then Hedera already has Archax, with 100+ tokenized assets and $300M+ in value across names including Aberdeen, State Street, Fidelity International, Legal & General and BlackRock-related fund exposure. Lloyds Banking Group has already used tokenized assets on Hedera as collateral for FX activity. That is why this SEC move feels different to me. These networks spent years building the rails. Now U.S. regulation is starting to create an actual market structure where stocks can move onchain and non-security crypto assets can sit directly beside them as liquidity pairs. That is a much bigger story than “tokenization is bullish.” This is traditional securities liquidity and crypto liquidity beginning to meet. $XRP, $XLM and $HBAR are already standing at that intersection. Coinbase’s Shan Aggarwal on why everything in finance is moving onchain. “We think that all assets are going to get tokenized and be onchain in some capacity. i agree with vlad calling for a SUPERCYCLE There is going to be a lot more retail AND institutional activity this cycle institutions: RWA's onchain, tokenized stocks onchain, stables onchain. they found crypto actually has a purpose. last cycle was the beginning of the ETFs. retail: i've been talking about this for months. mobile is so much easier than last cycle it's really easy for someone not in crypto to get onboarded into crypto with apple pay and gmail integrations and trade anything onchain without having to wait for it to get listed on coinbase or robinhood this happening at the BOTTOM as we're coming out of the bear is insane

Very often retail and crypto natives have never heard of Canton Network and when they discover there are trillions of $$ onchain already and the caliber of firms active on the network, their jaws drop, just like David’s here when he realizes $CC is already a top 50 token. Crypto markets have been messing around for a long time. They’re about to find out. I’m looking forward to hearing their interview with Canton in January where they’ll learn how open and public the network is and why both institutions and crypto startups are joining.

Senator Lummis went on Fox Business with a simple warning: without a clear regulatory framework, crypto is leaving. They are going to Dubai or Singapore. Wherever they are treated like a legitimate business. Crypto companies are not asking for special treatment. They are asking for rules. Clear ones. Without it, the US keeps regulating by enforcement. You do not know if you are breaking the law until the SEC shows up. Nobody wants to walk in a minefield

A letter notifying the police of today’s peaceful march to Parliament marking the second anniversary of June 25th and stating that Kenyans will be marching countrywide, was delivered to Police Spokesman Michael Nyaga Muchiri by five lawyers. Here is the video we recorded as the letter was handed over in the presence of former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, former Justice Minister and Senior Counsel Martha Karua, Professor of Law and Senior Counsel Kivutha Kibwana, Senior Counsel Gitobu Imanyara and Senior Counsel James Orengo. The police had sufficient time to prepare to protect marchers and ensure that no goons infiltrate to harm protesters or loot businesses. It is the duty of the police to protect lives and property for all and to arrest criminals. If any goons appear today and are not arrested, we shall know they are working for President Ruto. #Justice4OurMashujaa #HakiSasa #JusticeNow
