Codex 0.107.0 is here, and with it: FORKS🍴 This minor update includes the ability to fork your current chat history directly with custom multi agents with just a quick prompt. "Fork this session using n subagent(s)" This unlocks some interesting use-cases where you can launch multiple agents that retain all of your chat history up to that point, each in their own independent session. For example, you've been discussing architecture with Codex for 20 minutes, talked through constraints, reviewed existing code, settled on a model. Now you want to see two different implementation strategies side by side. Fork lets both children start from that full shared understanding. With a normal spawn, you'd have to re-explain the entire context to each child, and they'd inevitably miss nuance from the earlier conversation - which is basically a form of compaction/compression. With something like this, you could also just tell it to fork itself 5 times, and implement the same UI/frontend 5 different times in their own worktree to see which one you like the most. Other potential uses: - branching after reviews - try and rollback patterns using worktrees - parallel debugging strategies Otherwise, this is a minor update with improvements to the app server, realtime transcription, and memory. Mechanic may have called me a vagina and insinuated that sentiment analysis is irrelevant for what happens with BIP-110... but he's wrong. I shared this data not because I'm looking to spark controversy, but because there is a lot of Bitcoin at stake here and emotion can cause people to make poor decisions. This is only amplified when we all live inside of our own little algorithmic bubbles. Which is why this kind of analysis actually CAN give us clarity about what will happen on August 8th through a more human/social lens. TLDR for people that didn't read the piece is that BIP-110 supporters are broadly: 1) Getting angrier and more disapproving the further this debate rages on. 2) Talking with more hedging language, compared to those against BIP-110 who are growing more convicted. 3) Being fed higher rates of BIP-110 content by the algorithm, causing the debate to appear to have a larger mindshare then it actually does. 4) Getting LESS excited the closer we get to the activation date (which was probably the most unexpected and counterintuitive finding IMO). Again, I wish everyone the best as this debate rages on, but calling me names isn't going to stop me from sharing my findings ✌️

Ethan and the BIP 360 team (including myself and Hunter Beast 🕯️) introduced the P2MR part via a BIP 360 update late last year—but the question remains, what’s the most appropriate PQ signature scheme for Bitcoin? Ethan and the BIP 360 team (including myself and Hunter Beast 🕯️) introduced the P2MR part via a BIP 360 update late last year—but the question remains, what’s the most appropriate PQ signature scheme for Bitcoin? They all have substantive tradeoffs, but hash-based signatures seem to be leading technical discourse—likely due to recent optimizations by Jonas Nick and the broader Blockstream research team. It was an honor to sit down with both of these men - arguably the two most influential and productive cryptographers in Bitcoin quantum mitigation right now - for an in-depth review of the leading PQ signature schemes and a temperature check on Bitcoin’s post-quantum planning process. He doesn't see that he has any soft spots. But his big soft spot is Ukraine. He's developed this in the last 15 years, he hasn't always thought this, but his big soft spot is his notion that Russia has this history that lasted for 1,000 years, which is totally absurd. That in that history Russia and Ukraine have always been together, and that Ukraine therefore has never really existed as any kind of autonomous thing. Insofar as it seems to, that's just conspiratorial work of Russia's enemies who have put false ideas in our heads and so on. How I would put it is: the people who seem to be incredibly nihilistic often have some kind of soft spot, and for Putin it's precisely Ukraine. The way he talks about Ukraine is very different from the way he talks about other things. He presents it as a metaphysical truth that Ukraine and Russia have always been together. It's palpable that he actually believes this. Then you get into this basic problem with what I've been trying to analytically call the politics of small numbers. That people end up making strategic decisions on the basis of these wild things that they actually deeply believe in, in some way. And that leads to consequences which they don't expect.
