BREAKING: RTÉ spread disinformation on the death of Ali Sohrabi in Castlerea Prison Ali Sohrabi, a prisoner on remand, died in Castlerea Prison on Thursday 25 June. Media including RTÉ, the Irish Examiner, the Irish Independent and Midwest Radio have claimed that Sohrabi was “found dead in his cell.” These reports are untrue. Sohrabi did not die in his cell. He was not found in his cell. At 7:30pm on Thursday 25 June Martina Burke called Pat McGrath, RTÉ Western Correspondent, to raise this issue. McGrath answered the phone, then immediately hung up when he heard the purpose of the call. It is unacceptable that these media outlets can make claims which they know are untrue. It is wrong that the public cannot believe what they read or hear on the national media. We have had to write on numerous occasions to papers such as the Irish Examiner regarding the disinformation they publish on the case of Enoch Burke. It is also serious to hear the Minister for Arts and Culture Patrick O’Donovan warn of the dangers of disinformation, yet claim that the only reliable sources of news are outlets such as RTÉ. We would encourage the public to contact RTÉ and enquire why they are spreading this disinformation and giving a false message to the public. We would also encourage the public to contact Minister Patrick O’Donovan and ask him what steps he will be taking to address the disinformation being spread by the media.

A lady sent me this video. She was angry with what she heard. I checked the responses on IG, and women were not pleased. No wonder Ife didn't post this on X. I like to know what you think about the video. . . . I'll summarise their displeasure below. 1. Ethics. Just because you have money and audacity, does not make it ethical. Surrogacy exists as a means to help women going through fertility issues. It is not a way for rich women to shop for babies. There actually have to be a medical reason you are using surrogacy, to prevent abuse. To do otherwise could easily lead to exploitation and baby farming. 2. Economics of supply and demand. If surrogacy becomes something that only the rich can afford, the price would shoot up, and it would no longer be accessible to women who need it. Surrogacy is not a luxury item that the rich should buy just because... 3. She is 40 She intentionally skipped the part that she is 40 and geriatric. She is hiding the danger of her carrying pregnancy to term under "you dont owe anybody explanation. If you can afford it, do it. People hate that a woman can choose. They hate the audacity." This is a consolatory lie. Honesty is not that hard. The pregnancy is high risk, but she is desperately painting it as her choice. 4. Exploitation Women's womb should not be rented just because. It is a moral and ethical issue. The carrier need to feel she is helping out a family who cannot have kid of their own. It is a humanitarian issue, not business. If we agree that pregnancy itself can be life threatening if complications arise, then the least that should happen is that, it arose through empathy doing good for another woman, not something ticked off the market list of the bourgeoisie. . . . I'm just here to compare note. Do you agree it should be strictly business or regulated by ethics?

Faraja was found being shepherded by young females from another family entirely. They could offer protection, but not milk which he needed to survive. We raised him until he heard the call of the wild. Today he is 14, roaming the Chyulu Hills. A 100km+ corridor runs from Amboseli, through the Chyulu Hills to Tsavo – so maybe, one day, he'll find himself back wandering through the place he hailed from. Read Faraja's rescue story:

📌📌📌 This is so sad. According to our laws, a Form 2 student is a minor, which means she should not be living alone under any circumstances. This is one of the major problems we have in Zimbabwe laws exist, but they are rarely enforced. Who is the boyfriend she was seeing? If he is an adult, he should be investigated and, if found to have broken the law, prosecuted accordingly. There are people who prey on young girls, knowing they can manipulate them and often get away with it due to weak enforcement of the law like Temba and VP Kembo !!! Cases like this highlight the need for authorities to take child protection laws seriously and ensure they are properly enforced.
