Listen, I grew up with Megaman X but I know MegamanZero games is where the heaviest juice was. Still, each saga built from the previous. I so want CAPCOM to revisit Megaman :'(

They are both heavily lore-based games, the difference is that in MMZ they actively shows the lore, while MMX is more subtle with it's lore. I mean, nobody on this house went and read each dialogue piece on MMX, if you did congratulations

X is still better tho

It helps that zero was inafune's favorite character, so all the cool character moments in both the X and Z series were dedicated to him. X2 literally revolves around him, X4's story with zero is given much more emotional depth, and even after his "death" in X5 they bring him back

Sigma kept the franchise alive and you know it. Rédips and Lumine flopped SO hard it's still dead 21 years on

X series lore is more like "old ass scientist too angry to die and hates the world so he keeps reviving turbo hitler"

X should have just killed Sigma off with 3 and had Repliforce be the next arc antagonist for the next three games, then have the New Reploids for the third arc. A singular returning villain just doesn't work for a serialized game like it does for episodic games.
