Hope House is a sober shelter, and in the first six months since opening, it has achieved an impressive 78% success rate in moving residents into supportive housing or other long-term recovery programs. Hope House ensures that people struggling with addiction aren’t surrounded by the same drugs and alcohol they are trying to leave behind. The program, led by the Salvation Army, centers on sobriety and recovery. As Supervisor Matt Dorsey said during our tour, many problems begin to solve themselves when drugs and alcohol are removed from the equation. We still have work to do on our streets, but we will keep doubling down on solutions that are working.

I watched this video by Kemi Badenoch and laughed. She should be vying to become the Immigration Minister rather than the Prime Minister. Many Immigrants are a blessing to the UK and are not parasites, as she is painting them. They work hard, are highly educated, and are self-motivated. Many British Citizens have not worked for ages. They are having children with free accommodation and universal credit. She should try to get them back to work rather than trying to gain cheap popularity by stamping on immigrants. It will not work.

Oh, the audacity … by German Chancellor Merz: “We are simply no longer productive enough. Each individual may say, ‘I already do quite a lot.’ And that may be true. But when you return from China, ladies and gentlemen, you see things more clearly. With work-life balance and a four-day week, long-term prosperity in our country cannot be maintained. We will simply have to do a bit more.”

The reason political parties are so afraid to challenge the triple lock for pensioners is that older generations actually get out and vote. Politicians cater to them because they show up. They are the loudest in the room and politicians rely on their vote. If we want to be heard, younger generations need to vote on the issues that directly affect our future, such as: 🔹Student debt reform - tackling high interest rates and unaffordable repayments. 🔹First-time buyer support - easier access to mortgages and schemes for lower deposits. 🔹Childcare for young families - affordable, accessible options so parents can work. 🔹Flexible working rights - ensuring jobs adapt to modern parenting and lifestyle needs. 🔹Housing supply and infrastructure – building more affordable homes in areas with good transport and schools. 🔹Parental leave and pay – improving support for both parents in the early stages of raising a family. 🔹Lower taxes - for those under 25, scrap IR35, lower corporation tax, overhaul the tax rates/codes. Don’t complain that politics only cares about the older generation when they are the ones who vote and actively participate. If we want change, we need to turn up, speak out, and vote. It’s the laziest thing to say “there’s no point, they’re all the same” force them to implement policy by being involved. Start taking an interest in policy and politics, or they won’t take an interest in you.
