More than a dozen passengers were removed from an easyJet flight because the plane was too heavy to take off from Lanzarote on Wednesday.

Footage uploaded to TikTok shows the pilot announcing that those who get off the plane will be offered up to €500. A spokesperson for easyJet confirmed that 19 passengers left and volunteered to travel on a later flight as a result of the aircraft being over the weight limits for the weather conditions.

If they told me conditions were not favorable for the plane to take off, they would not have to pay me to get off. I would pay them.

Lanzarote - RWY 03 is a known hotspot for take off performance limited qualms in the summer. Instead of offloading PAX, why didn’t crew just uplift less fuel to carry them far enough up north somewhere to make a tech stop - Refuel & carry on to final destination thereafter.

That's some massive delay. They have to offload checked in luggages too.......

All you have to say to me is the plane is to heavy and open the door- my ass is OFF! When in doubt- jump the heck out!
