Long before Tool became known for sprawling, progressive epics, "Sober" announced a band with a sound unlike anything else in heavy music. Driven by Justin Chancellor's predecessor Paul D'Amour's brooding bassline, Adam Jones' crushing guitar work and Maynard James Keenan's haunting vocal, the song became the breakthrough that introduced Tool to a worldwide audience.
