Tottenham Hotspur and Roberto De Zerbi are both sensitive to comments that he has made around Mason Greenwood when he was at Marseille and has been carefully considered and discussed as part of the hiring process.

Tottenham should hold themselves to higher standards than hiring Roberto De Zerbi after his praise of Mason Greenwood at Marseille. (Chris Paouros spoke brilliantly to Max Rushden 💛🖤 yesterday too on talkSPORT) I'd feel the same way if Manchester United were offering him a deal.

📹🚨🗣️| Fabrizio Romano on United starting their process to find the new head coach and who the candidates could be: “Now Manchester United will start the process to understand who can be the future manager. It’s going to be a long process, not a matter of days, it’s going to take weeks and months. United are going to meet managers and representatives. Two names I can guarantee will be considered by Ineos are Thomas Tuchel and Roberto De Zerbi. Tuchel is fully focused on England and nothing can be agreed while there’s a World Cup incoming. Roberto De Zerbi’s focus is on Marseille. Tuchel and De Zerbi were both candidates in 2024, and they met with them. De Zerbi is appreciated by United but he’s not the only one.” #MUFC

Really hope Sandro is given a role at Spurs under Roberto De Zerbi. Sandro played under RDZ for Benevento & since retiring has been in & around the picture at Brighton while De Zerbi was there. Predominantly coaching youth teams. Feels like a tap in to have someone who not only bleeds Spurs, but already has a close bond with De Zerbi. For a long time we've been dying to have a Tottenham man in the coaching staff, and even better is that this wouldn't feel like a forced appointment.

🚨 Roberto De Zerbi on the Tottenham fan protests regarding his relationship with Mason Greenwood: “I have seen the statements from the fans, but I am here to save Tottenham from relegation, not to be a politician. I said it in Marseille and I will say it again in London: Mason is my footballing son. When the whole world was against him, he gave everything for me. If the board gives me the budget this summer, he is the very first player I am calling to bring here. The fans have to make a choice — do you want to survive in the Premier League and win, or do you want to complain about the past?”
