🏝️ Bali's trash burning problem has just reached new toxic heights This week, Bali's biggest landfill has been ordered to close. The landfill is a more than 35 meter high mountain of decaying trash covering 32 hectares. It's closed because the gases emanated from it are toxic and ground water is being contaminated This means there's no other landfill of this size near to accept Bali's current trash. So the government has instructed people that "household waste should be disposed of at home" which in Bali means burning it! Trash burning has been a tradition for centuries in Bali (and Indonesia), but it used be mostly organic matter that was being burned Once plastic arrived the tradition didn't change though and locals started burning plastic too, pumping toxic gases into the air causing massive spikes of lung cancer and other respiratory diseases The tradition means on a daily basis around 7 in the morning and 6 in the evening, your neighbours will be burning their trash, and if you're not lucky there's a construction site near which will burn even more but all day! Burning plastic means you emit dioxins and furans, some of the most potent human carcinogens that exist I have friends in Indonesia with family with lung cancer cases, it's a real thing. My fear with Bali has always been that the digital nomads there might not realize the slow danger creeping up on them. You get used to the trash burning and polluted air very quickly in Bali and it probably doesn't affect you over a year or so But if you're there for many years, it will in some way or the other! For a community that's so about fitness and health, air quality is weirdly a consideration mostly overlooked in Bali

Context/Details: June 27, 2023, Florida. Li, who was arrested on June 27 after being caught on surveillance video injecting a toxic substance into his neighbor Umar Abdullah's apartment, has been deported to China. The entire ordeal between 36-year-old Li and Abdullah began shortly after Abdullah and his wife moved into their new condominium in June 2022. The conflict started with Li, living downstairs, complaining about noises from Abdullah's apartment, stating in texts that he couldn't sleep and could hear the toilet seat being moved. This dispute over noise escalated dramatically. Abdullah and his family started experiencing unexplained symptoms like grogginess, sickness, and vomiting. Initially suspecting household issues, Abdullah investigated the air conditioning and water heater but found no faults. Abdullah's concern grew, leading him to call the fire department, but their tests did not reveal anything. His suspicions eventually turned towards Li. The turning point came when Abdullah installed a hidden camera in a plant outside his home, which captured Li injecting a toxic solution through a gap in Abdullah's door. Li was in the United States on a student visa pursuing his doctorate in chemistry. He had pleaded not guilty to several felony charges, including battery and possession of a controlled substance. However, following his arrest and the subsequent legal proceedings, his student visa was canceled due to his expulsion from the University of South Florida. This led to his deportation. Adam Bantner, Li's attorney, confirmed that Li had been deported and, as of now, is unlikely to face charges in the U.S. Bantner noted that Li's case is in a "warrant status," meaning if Li ever returns to the U.S., the arrest could be activated. During the initial investigation, a hazardous materials team determined that the substance Li was injecting into Abdullah's home was a concoction of the opioids methadone and hydrocodone. This incident had a profound impact on Abdullah, his wife Samira, and their infant daughter. The family experienced a range of alarming symptoms due to exposure to the toxic substance, including breathing difficulties, burning eyes, headaches, dizziness, stinging eyes, and severe coughing and vomiting. Additionally, the family suffered hair loss, with Abdullah finding clumps of hair on their baby girl's pillow and both he and his wife experiencing unusual hair loss. Loool😂 After leading a 6 year smear campaign against the Royal family, especially the Wales family; After hiring and losing 11 publicists and 3 big US PR houses in 5 years; After PR stunts after PR stunts, chasing the Kardashians, cooking shows and holiday special; Instagram blitz of PR online and even throwing their Children in the spotlight to save Mummy’s brand..😮‍💨 Meghan ranked #1 on Rankers 2025 list of Most Disliked Celebrity in Hollywood😂 It reads: “Meghan Markle has claimed the top position on Ranker's 2025 list of the Most Disliked Celebrities, according to live, crowd-sourced voting data. The duchess's rise to No. 1 follows several years of sustained public disapproval, particularly in the United States, after she and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties."🤭 Harry was #5. Get this, she was first ahead of P Diddy, a known sexual offender. This is how you know your reputation is over😭 Even Buckingham Palace could not save H&M with their PR experts. No one can. Their true repulsive characters have been exposed to the world. There is no going back. As Socrates put it: “Consider your good name the richest jewel you can possibly be possessed of”🔥 As a public figure especially, your good name and good reputation is your entire credibility. Once that has been tarnished and exposed as toxic, no amount of PR can rectify the course. H&M have been making that list of most disliked celebrity in Hollywood as top 5 since 2022🤷🏽‍♀️ Their credibility on the world stage is so shot that the DM was just reporting on how most of the 11 publicists who left their employment have “scrubbed all mentions of working for the couple on their CVs”🤯 Yikes. Staff who used to work for the Wales proudly display in their CVs that they were employees of the Prince and Princess of Wales because William and Catherine’s good name carry in the world👌🏽 However, Staff who used to work for H&M would rather scrub them off their CV in order to be taken seriously because NO ONE worth their salt, takes the clowns of Montecito seriously. I am not sure what lies Meghan’s medium in New York told her about the year 2025 but whatever she said, I know 2025 has been her “Annus Horibilis”😂
