True Lies (1994) James Cameron had known Jamie Lee Curtis since she worked with his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow on Blue Steel (1990), and always wanted to collaborate. Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, didn’t see her as Helen. He told Cameron through his agent, and Cameron respected it. But after seeing Curtis in A Fish Called Wanda (1988), Cameron knew she was perfect. He asked Schwarzenegger if he trusted him—when Arnie said yes, Cameron insisted: “It’s going to be Jamie.” Schwarzenegger agreed and soon became so impressed with Curtis that he later shared top billing, calling their pairing “a match made in heaven.”
