Remember this interview in which he clearly claims that the EU agreed to give him $600 billion to do whatever he wants with, in exchange for lower tariffs? Well, the actual framework was just publicly released, and it turns out this... is a blatant lie. Here it is: “The United States and the European Union share one of the world’s largest economic relationships, supported by mutual investment stocks exceeding $5 trillion, and intend to promote and facilitate mutual investments on both sides of the Atlantic. In this context, European companies are expected to invest an additional $600 billion across strategic sectors in the United States through 2028.” TRUMP lied and MAGA doesn't care. He didn't get the EU to agree to $600 billion. The framework simply states what expectations are, based on current and previous trends. And it has nothing to do with the EU government.show more

A further $600 billion investment will be made by the EU to the US, including military equipment purchases. This also means that EU will be able to replace Russian energy with US energy. President von der Leyen said that the agreement was "a good deal" and would bring stability and predictability with it. Other European politicians have been less supportive. German industrial area will be hit hard by the tariffs, its representatives said. An important outcome of the deal is the end of uncertainty that made global markets more volatile.
