Trump has decided upon a solution and is trying to find a problem it solves. His minions and he want to bring manufacturing back to the USA without studying all its aspects. Do they even have an industry that has volunteered to make things here?

@MalcolmNance Maybe they should have STFU and continued to let the CHIPS Act do its thing in bringing back semiconductor production. He could have eventually taken the win once those plants became fully functional. Boy, noโ€ฆ.he has to destroy everything anyone else has done.

Congress has abrogated its power over tariffs to the executive branch. You would think that the least they could do is impose some semblance of oversight. They coould ask team Trump: "What's the gameplan here?" But they don't. Probably because they are unworthy cowards in office.

There are many of us who used to work in manufacturing still here and many more can be trained. She wasn't around at that time and assumed we didn't do it or won't

As someone who worked in manufacturing for 10+ yrs I don't see it as a way to make a living unless you can move your way up the ladder because most manufacturers in the US use temp services to find workers so they don't have to pay them a good wage or benefits.

Even if we do, no corporation is building factory lines over automated . Even in china they are replacing humans. If youโ€™re building new itโ€™s the obvious choice. It wonโ€™t create jobs. It will cost us.

You are gaslighting Americans. Hey, why dont you come to fayetteville. Purolator has a factory. Go see how many Mexicans are working there... you will find 3-4... the rest are Americans! You can also go to Goodyear tire factory. Again fayetteville nc and again, americans working!

Jensen Huang explains how he designed NVIDIA from first principles โ€œWith respect to building a company, the first thing you have to doโ€”as with all problemsโ€”is start from first principles. What is this machine that weโ€™re trying to create? What is its input? What is its output? What are the conditions that itโ€™s in? What is the industry like? Is it a fast moving industry? Is it a bureaucratic industry? Is it a highly regulated industry? And what are you trying to build?โ€ Thinking about it from this perspective, there were several things Jensen wanted to do with the company: โ€œI wanted to create a company that naturally attracts amazing people, and the reason for that is our companyโ€™s mission is to solve computing problems that are barely possible.โ€ He also wanted a company that was โ€œas small as possibleโ€ and โ€œempowered people.โ€ โ€œIf you want an organization that obeys command and control, then you make it a pyramid just like the militaryโ€”all the way back to the Roman Empire. But If you want to empower people, you want to make it as flat as possible so that information travels quickly.โ€ He continues: โ€œWe also donโ€™t have business units. We donโ€™t have divisions. Everybody works as one, and the company is shaped in a way that allows us to build accelerated computing best.โ€ Video source: Sana (2023)

Now the special envoy has flown back to the United States, where he will report back to his boss, U.S. President Donald Trump. And to that, Landry says: โ€˜I will report back to him that ever since he began talking about Greenland back in 2016, he has actually put Greenland on the map. And what he essentially did was recognize that the United States, prior to President Trump, had neglected Greenland.โ€™ Q: Some of the people we have spoken to feel somewhat offended by the tone coming from the United States. Do you think there is something in the rhetoric from the U.S. that people here simply do not understand, or what is it really about?โ€ โ€œWell, listen, I have never paid much attention to what people say about me. People make memes and jokes and say harsh things. I will always say that people should judge me by my actions, not my words,โ€ Landry replies before turning to Trump. โ€œDonald Trump is definitely a man of action. And he always wants to create opportunities for people. He wakes up every day working to make life better for Americans. And I believe that is the same kind of prosperity he wants to bring to Greenland as well. And it begins with security.โ€ The journalist tells Jeff Landry that some of the people DR has spoken to still believe that President Trump wants to take over Greenland. โ€˜And I have to ask you: Is that still the mission?โ€™ โ€˜The mission is to bring this country under the Monroe Doctrine in a way that is beneficial to Greenland. When I spoke with Greenlanders, every question was about this: Do you want the United States to be here? Not everyone says no โ€” some want a closer relationship.โ€™ โ€˜And they are not only saying it with words, they are also showing it physically in a very clear way. So again, I would say those are the people Donald Trump cares about. And I certainly do as well,โ€™ Jeff Landry explains. (The interview took place yesterday.) โ€”DR
