I'm concerned that the merger between Vodafone Group and Three UK is dangerous and risks giving a company with its roots in Communist Party-ruled China a more prominent place in the UK’s mobile network. Not only does the proposed deal raise serious questions about national security and competition, but it poses risks to our communication networks and personal data; given the Cheung Kong Group and the Li family being so knowingly involved with Chinese Government committees, their contacts in the Chinese Government and having to pass data over under the national security law. I'd like to hear that the UK Government are able to assure everybody publicly that this will not take place unless the security issues are clarified and are not still security issues at the end of this process.
