TBH. The actual truth is Africa needs to wake up and get serious. Our leaders need to breakout from this shackles of over dependence on the west, develop capacity and build enabling infrastructures.

It’s truth, not entitlement. They don’t give you what you want, and they restrict you via various means to build/make it on your own. During the early COVID19 days, I know a lot of friends who are citizens and permanent residents of different Western countries that traveled there to get vaccinated, which was relatively easy, while some of us in Nigeria had to wait a little bit more to get the opportunity to be vaccinated.

Both: Entitlement - nothing can be served to us a la carte. You want it; you better be ready to fight for it. Truth - foolhardy to believe at a time of scarcity, the West would consider global lives to be equal.

A mix of both. It's an urgent call for Africa to focus on nurturing its intellectual capital, to invest robustly in scientific research and innovation. This whole situation should serve as a catalyst, prompting a paradigm shift in Africa's approach towards self-reliance.

If we had the capacity to do stuff, we can do them. No one holds anyone from building its own capacity in pharmaceutical, economy etc. we just have to keep building. They’d have no option but to fall in line later. Build!!! Don’t Cry Africa

The AU tried to negotiate. It was tough. Scientists in Africa did do genome sequencing in collaboration with institutions to figure out what to do due lack of help. @USAmbPEPFAR was key among scientists across Africa who did their best to try to get vaccines to Africa.

Both. It would be nice if same leaders talking also show that our lives are important. Subcidy removed 3 weeks ago, we are still waiting for our president to address the people on the hardship created.
