What you’re actually bitching about isn’t capitalism. It’s scarcity. Nature is cruel, time is limited, energy is costly, mistakes are expensive, and you don’t get everything you want just because you want it. Capitalism merely refuses to lie to you about that. It doesn’t tell you the universe owes you a living. It tells you the bill comes due somewhere—and you can either pay it with effort and ingenuity, or you can pay it later with failure. And yes, underneath the theatrical outrage, there’s usually the same little acid core: envy. Not concern for the poor—envy of the rich. Not anger at injustice—anger that someone else has more. Not a plan—an accusation. Because it’s easier to call a system “violent” than to admit you haven’t built anything worth buying. So no: capitalism isn’t perfect. It’s just the least-worst option we’ve found for turning human ambition into groceries and electricity instead of mass graves. If you’ve got something better, bring details—mechanisms, incentives, enforcement, error correction, and how you prevent the inevitable parasites from taking over. Until then, spare everyone the Zanzibar-West “truths” and just say what you mean: you want reality to rewrite itself so you can feel less bitter in it.
