Tupac talking about how capitalism creates grotesque inequality
10 条评论

Tupac on why riots happen, describing it as an expression of class struggle and echoing MLK's comment that they are "the language of the unheard"

Tupac was born into a family of Black Panthers and was himself a member of the Young Communist League. Here he talks about his roots in the black communist tradition:

Tupac on the reality of violent systemic racism in the US and the threats he personally faced from Nazis, and how liberals are incapable of confronting it and instead just give flowery rhetoric

you can see the influence of Tupac's communist background in songs like "Brenda's Got a Baby", a materialist class analysis of poverty as told through the story of a young black girl growing up in the ghetto

in the clip where Tupac talks about his upbringing in the context of the Black Panthers he mentions COINTELPRO being responsible for arresting his mother and holding a gun to her pregnant belly. For more on that fascist FBI-police project see this thread:

One of the most influential voices of the populist left in recent decades. Not joking. Tupac probably touched more people with his thoughts than most career politicians and thinkers.

He was a legendary comrade 😤✊🏿

Tupac dropping truth bombs about capitalism

When it rains it pours. They got money for wars but can't feed the poor

He was talking about millionaires. Now we have ultra billionaires 😠
