For starters within the first ten seconds of the video he claims capitalism doesn’t incentivize innovation to what people actually need, but that’s exactly what markets signal. People who meet market demand are rewarded for doing so. Capitalism creates the most incentive for people to create value for their fellow man. No other system comes close.

@earlkralik no, he said people want affordable housing, health care, education and good public transportation. That's simply true.

That’s interesting, but the data shows capitalism has greatly improved the human condition.

Capitalism doesn’t limit what you can achieve. You are the limit. That’s the part people keep trying to talk around with a podcast voice and a ring-light moral lecture: capitalism is not a ceiling, it’s a sorting mechanism. It doesn’t guarantee outcomes. It doesn’t hand out participation trophies. It doesn’t care about your “lived experience” of being disappointed. It offers opportunities, and it punishes delusion—often brutally, sometimes unfairly, always indifferently. It creates abundance because it ties reward to solving problems other people will voluntarily pay to have solved. That’s the whole scandal. Value isn’t produced by wishing, declaring, or resenting—it’s produced by work, by risk, by competence, by persistence, by delayed gratification, by building something that survives contact with reality. The reason shops are full, medicine exists, logistics works, and you can sit in a chair complaining into a phone made of rare earths and global supply chains is precisely because someone, somewhere, was allowed to profit from getting things right. Is it perfect? Fucking no. It’s human. It has fraud. It has nepotism. It has rent-seekers. It has people who inherit advantages and people who waste them. It has boom-and-bust. It has executives who should be fired and regulators who should be jailed and activists who should be ignored. And yet, compared to every alternative that’s been attempted at scale, it produces more food, more shelter, more safety, more longevity, more choice, more knowledge, and more upward mobility over time than any system that tries to replace it with force and slogans. What you’re actually bitching about isn’t capitalism. It’s scarcity. Nature is cruel, time is limited, energy is costly, mistakes are expensive, and you don’t get everything you want just because you want it. Capitalism merely refuses to lie to you about that. It doesn’t tell you the universe owes you a living. It tells you the bill comes due somewhere—and you can either pay it with effort and ingenuity, or you can pay it later with failure. And yes, underneath the theatrical outrage, there’s usually the same little acid core: envy. Not concern for the poor—envy of the rich. Not anger at injustice—anger that someone else has more. Not a plan—an accusation. Because it’s easier to call a system “violent” than to admit you haven’t built anything worth buying. So no: capitalism isn’t perfect. It’s just the least-worst option we’ve found for turning human ambition into groceries and electricity instead of mass graves. If you’ve got something better, bring details—mechanisms, incentives, enforcement, error correction, and how you prevent the inevitable parasites from taking over. Until then, spare everyone the Zanzibar-West “truths” and just say what you mean: you want reality to rewrite itself so you can feel less bitter in it.

This is the idiocy of the left. They would decide where capital and labor should go. And if it is wasted or lost they would never be held accountable. Capitalism make sure that there is accounting for waste fraud and abuse and limits the control of government cronies.

"For capital, the purpose of production is not, in fact, to meet human needs... The objective is singularly clear, which is to maximize and accumulate profit." How do these companies generate profit? By satisfying human needs. If the public desires the Turbotron 5000 and Company X meets this demand, the business will be profitable.

When people are free to interact & pursue, markets will emerge as the most efficient way to coordinate & align. And capitalism will evolve organically as capital gets accumulated which is reinvested as equity & debt. The truth is capitalism & freedom are 2 sides of the same coin.

It is true, but no truth! As he is an ideologist he just looks at the world he wants to and not from different perspectives. e.g. currently it is socialists and greens forcing the industry-military complex, not the capitalists.

Let me guess: the "solution" you're offering is the well-being economy model where currency no longer exists and "well-being" is measured in social credits and geo-fenced carbon allowances that only the wealthiest can buy more of?

Stupid post. Capitalism does not limit anything. Do you know what capitalism is? Capitalism is simply producing and trading between people and companies and people. It is all voluntary. How can something voluntary limit you? It cannot. Stupid post.

If only there was a country that was split down the middle in the 1950’s. One operating under capitalism and one under communism that we could look to 75 years later and see which is better off. If only such a country in East Asia with a DMZ to keep them apart existed.
