Try Omarchy runs Omarchy on your Apple Silicon MacBook. No setup, just a standard app install. Super easy to give Omarchy a try before you install it. Link in the first reply. Here's a demo of the full setup (~3min)

PS: The visual artifacts are from the video encoding, not Omarchy. It's available here:

I have an old MacBook Air M1 that I feel like would be a candidate to go try this Linux OS out. 6 months ago I would not have predicted that I’d be interested in Linux as a result of AI. Very cool!

This is awesome. So with your setup now, can I run the full Omarchy setup on my Mac 1:1? If not what’s missing? I’m 1 week into Linux so still understanding the OS and what it can do and what yours maybe can’t do yet?

That's the goal. Right now you can run it but some things still need work. I believe we will achieve something very close to 1:1!

Sweet! So would future improvements simply be updates to what I would already install or would I have to start from scratch in the future? Just curious if I should dedicate time to setting up Omarchy on my Mac. Or if in the future I’d have to start from scratch.

I'm working on this right now. Ideally it should be just an update, no reset. I'm trying to get this working for today's release, let's see

Can you make this actually usable like WSL style. I would use it this way.

Crazy that it just works! Love it Tried some other vm option yesterday but it sucked since it didn't have gpu acceleration This is great

Sorry for the stupid question, but does that mean I can run this on my M4 Pro (2024)?

Eduardo... Absolutely great way for us apple users to taste Omarchy. Watched Matt's video and can't wait to try this out. I'm a keyboard guy and the quick switching between windows and workspaces is something I have looked for a long time. Thanks and keep the updates coming.

This is amazing - I’m trying to get it working on my old MacBook (intel) running Sierra. Any chance you’ve got a solution for that ?

I fixed it by doing the following : 1. Fix for Omarchy Arch Linux updates: aquamarine 0.15.0-2 breaks hyprland compatibility 2. Add 'aquamarine' to IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf 3. Then run 'sudo pacman -Syu' - system updates but keeps working hyprland But now this issue:

Ok that's the cursor package missing. Maybe Omarchy is trying to install automatically?

Genuinely asking, how do we rollback to MacOS after we installed Omarchy?
