trying this with a retro lowpoly character... how's it look? 🤔

Eh I think here it looks better without the thing. In general I think this trick makes the head look a bit English

i wonder if the switching is what feels weird, and if people would notice the head flattening on its own.

I think it's more seamless with models that already imitate a 2D look Also I meant to say "small" no idea why it says English LMAOOOOO

yours already feels optimized for the 3D it kinda just looks smaller with the thing on

it's definitely best for illustrative 3D. i think i can find use for it though i often have to scale the head down for extreme poses, and this is a good alternative, especially at subtler values.

I think it makes the most difference on a 3/4 angle. Low poly, texture for eyes, characters look very flat on their side profiles

Sorry if i sound dumb, but even from the original video..what is this technique trying to accomplish exactly? i don't get it.

I love her smile

both are surprisingly good!

i need a woman that will look at me like this

some adgustments to the facial features would prob make is look better

First one looks better tbh

kinda cool

she made blood flow in my lower torso and i cant make a proper answer because of that
