Franchise players take accountability. Leaders don't point fingers. After scoring 31 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing 7 assists, you might have expected Scottie Barnes to come out and say "what more do you expect from me?" You might have expected him to point to some of his teammates playing sloppy defense and being unable to make shots. You might have expected to hear the FVV special, coded language. Things like "we're inexperienced, we have a lot of rookies, we just need guys to make plays". Nope. Instead you heard your franchise player saying HE needs to make his layups. If you're still hating on this dude, you have actual psychological issues and need help. #Raptors #WeTheNorth

Stony Brook freshman Andrej Shoshkikj will be entering the transfer portal. One of the bigger mid-season breakouts this past season, Shoshkikj went on to average 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists in the year of 2026 and shot 51.3%, 49.4% from three, 95.3% FT during that stretch. Which included a breakout 35 point performance to end the season vs Campbell. Very talented, I do hope he stays at the MM level, really think he's got a chance to be one of the most efficient guards at that level next season. Has taken major leaps since I first watched him during U18's and 20's in 23.

Arizona State’s 7'1 FR Mor Massamba Diop had a very impressive debut vs southern Utah Diop notched in: 14 Points 5 Rebounds 3 blocks 2 assists 6-8 FG Prior to coming over from the states, he was developing very well in Spain for two of the most illustrious clubs in Spain with Real Madrid and Gran Canaria At 7’1 he moves very well, has the ability to handle the ball in transition, doesn’t look awkward with any movements, very athletic… the full package for an upside big. Made some good reads as a distributor as well. Talented.

Tennessee has continued to feature him offensively (27.1 usage in conference), and his efficiency has increased since his slow start to the season. As he grows into his frame by adding core and lower body strength, it will be harder for defenses to knock him off his spot or stop him from getting to better spots on the floor, where he's a talented shot maker. He showed the ability to shoot over the top of smaller defenders. Ament struggles creating on ball without the help of a screen, but he showed several good P&R possessions, finding the roll man with passes or getting his shot off. He's a bit heavy-footed and will struggle staying in front of smaller, quicker players - his length does allow him to recover better than others. He's a bit heavy-footed and will struggle staying in front of smaller, quicker players - his length does allow him to recover better than others. Two big swing factors that will ultimately determine Ament's ceiling - improved strength and quicker decision making on the ball.

Brayden Burries vs. Kansas 20 points (6/10 FG | 2/4 3pt | 6/6 FT) 12 rebounds 5 assists 1 steal 0 turnovers (I counted 1 turnover but box score says 0) Burries' defense really stood out to me against Kansas. He's a smart team defender with a high level of spacial awareness, consistently stunting and recovering, digging at ball handlers, and in the right spot in rotations. He does a good job staying in front of ball handlers and walling up around rim without fouling. Burries is just a really smart player on both ends. There were several instances of him setting his defender up and waiting until they turned their head or adjusted their position, and he quickly got down hill. I think there's potential for him to be able to attack the rim from a standstill without a screen. He showed a few pocket passes to bigs out of P&R, and I think he's quick and strong enough to turn the corner against most P&R coverages. He has good shooting indicators - 46.3% on 82 non-rim twos (78.9% unassisted rate), 8.1 3pt attempts per 100 possessions, and 83.5% on free throws on 79 attempts in 20 games against top 100 opponents (77.3% overall on 119 attempts for the season). Processing indicators are good too - 2.9 steal% and 2.1 assist to turnover ratio. Anecdotally, he may be the best player on a top 3 team in the country. Burries looks like a big time prospect, and it will be difficult for me to keep him out of my personal top 10. He's a bit of a tweener guard, but I think at worst he's a secondary creator with primary upside. I will be paying close attention to his athro measurements at the combine.
