img2threejs 1.5.1 is out 🚀 Checkout: This release introduces a new approach to image → 3D → Three.js. Image → Tripo → img2threejs → reconstructed geometry → Three.js Instead of using the generated 3D model as the final asset, img2threejs uses it as a reference to rebuild the character into a representation that can be generated and rendered directly in Three.js. No Blender workflow, and no GLB required as the final output. The animation in the demo is still a bit rough because this release is focused on reconstruction, not animation. I’ll be improving that in the next release. Still experimental, but this is a big step toward where I want img2threejs to go.

Want to create an avatar from a single image? FlexAvatar is a transformer model that creates full 360°, high-quality, and expressive 3D head avatar from just a single portrait image in minutes. Real-time Demo: FlexAvatar's lightweight architecture allows both animation and rendering in real-time, enabling interactive user experiences. To create a new 3D head avatar, only one image is required, e.g., from a webcam. The final avatar is ready after 2 minutes. Architecture: Under the hood, FlexAvatar adopts a transformer-based encoder-decoder design. The encoder maps the input image onto a latent avatar space, while the decoder produces 3D Gaussian attribute maps by incorporating the animation signal via cross-attention. The model learns all facial animations directly from the data without relying on pre-built 3D face models. This equips the avatars with realistic facial expressions. The internal avatar latent space can be conveniently used to integrate additional observations of a person via fitting. This enables use-cases where more than one image of a person is available, e.g., from a phone scan of the person. We train jointly on 2D monocular videos and multi-view data. However, in monocular videos, the animation signal leaks the target viewpoint, causing the model to produce incomplete 3D heads. Hyperion is a very heavy asset, because of this, we built a LOD system into the rig to enable animators to work fluidly with the character at the different stages of production. You don't always need to work with the highest quality version of your asset, especially at the earlier stages of a shot/production. Having LODs allows animators to work more efficiently by choosing the level of detail they want to work with directly in the rig. Old Art to full 3D using Cinema 4D . Created a free and open-source plugin to bring Hunyuan 3D directly into Cinema 4D. This workflow combines multiple tools that are available today into a single, cohesive pipeline. I wanted to show that AI is never an end product by itself, it’s not the finality. Used properly, AI becomes an extremely powerful tool that lets you build exactly what you want. I hope you like it. New clean 3D AI workflow Control Rig physics in UEFN! Been exploring some more hybrid AI workflows lately, and for 3D assets splitting the model into parts is kinda essential. This video shows my first test using AssetHub, one of the cleanest ways i've used to keep the whole generation process organized. It auto-detected the pose in my main image and broke it down into parts, then generated images for each. From there I can just iterate on each piece separately and generate the 3D models in one workflow. AssetHub is still in closed beta atm, so let me know if you want to try it out. Main reference image came from Grok Imagine. All the part images and high poly meshes were done in AssetHub, selected Tripo 3.1 as the main model. After that I ran it through Hunyuan 3D for retopo + unwrap. Final assembly in Blender. Baked normals from high to low poly. End result: under 60K tris, 3 materials, 2K textures. Also Control Rig physics in Unreal Engine are insane. It finally validates in UEFN too, so of course I had to test it out.

Only if education could be this interactive ❤️‍🔥 I've had a looong wish to build something genuinely useful through vibe coding, and I finally did it. A 3D human anatomy application built with Three.js using GPT 5.6 Sol. It all started with a single design image that I created using GPT Image 2.0. I then used it to generate every 3D organ image, one by one. Next, I converted each of those images into 3D models using Tripo (and no, they didn't sponsor this 😄). After that, I opened Codex, wrote a master prompt based on the design, and gave it the prompt, the design image, and all the 3D models. Codex built the first version beautifully, but there was one big problem. Every single 3D model was nearly 120-150 MB. That obviously wasn't practical for the web and was giving a performance of 16fps. After a few iterations, Codex optimized each model down to roughly 2–5.5 MB while preserving the visual quality, reducing the total asset size from ~900 MB to just 28.6 MB. And each model loads on demand. Along the way, Codex also generated those anatomical illustrations showing where each organ sits in the human body, and even created the interactive hotspot markers that explain different parts of every organ. It handled all of that. The process wasn't exactly one shot, but it also wasn't difficult. You just have to do it step by step. It genuinely felt like building something that could make learning anatomy much more engaging. The inspiration came from Dilum Sanjaya's 3D animal plant cell project. This is one of the wildest things I have built with AI so far 😱 Asked Claude Fable 5 to create a fully interactive 3D crime investigation board using Three.js and it did it in ONE Prompt. It took one more prompt to give it a polished UI inspired by a reference design that I created with GPT Image. What surprised me most was not how it looked. It was how it worked. Fable built a complete Verlet rope physics system with 46 particles in every thread. It handled gravity, damping, distance constraints and all other features of file upload, text and everything. The threads/ropes even lift naturally with pinned evidence instead of clipping through it. I never asked it to implement any of that. I only described the experience I wanted. Maybe that's how we should work with AI. Instead of writing long long specs, we should explain what we want as an experience and let AI do its thing. Anyway, every day Fable 5 raises the bar for what I think AI can build. More to this Live: Code:

It took one more prompt to give it a polished UI inspired by a reference design that I created with GPT Image. What surprised me most was not how it looked. It was how it worked. Fable built a complete Verlet rope physics system with 46 particles in every thread. It handled gravity, damping, distance constraints and all other features of file upload, text and everything. The threads/ropes even lift naturally with pinned evidence instead of clipping through it. I never asked it to implement any of that. I only described the experience I wanted. Maybe that's how we should work with AI. Instead of writing long long specs, we should explain what we want as an experience and let AI do its thing. Why do we still buy stadium tickets without ever seeing what the view from the seat actually looks like? ☠️ So I prototyped an idea. A 3D seat view experience for a football stadium built with Fable 5 + Three.js, where you can preview exactly what you'll see from your seat before buying. The entire 3D experience was working after the first prompt, and the whole prototype came together in just five prompts. This is the kind of 3D experience I'd love to see more of, tbh. Feels so good. Right now, buying a ticket gives you almost no sense of what the experience will actually feel like. We're still relying on static seat maps, charts, and boring UI layouts, when interactive 3D experiences could make that decision so much easier. If you think, 3D development has the potential to create genuinely useful experiences. This feels like the direction we should be heading. 3D is the future. I can already imagine this for cinemas, cricket stadiums, Wimbledon, concerts, and so many other venues. I'm planning to take this further. What should I build next? I built a fully playable 3D platformer game in exactly 3 days, using almost entirely AI-generated assets. To test whether AI can really replace the asset grind, I came up with a steampunk cat universe from scratch and brought it straight into Unreal Engine 5. So Runway Gen 4.5 finally adds image-to-video, the workflow most pros rely on for consistency. We put it head to head with Kling AI and Flow by Google VEO using the same reference images and prompts (below) to evaluate motion quality, stability, and cinematic realism. 1. Action/WaterPhysics Test Prompt: Cinematic, wide-shot of a man running in a shallow river. The camera is tracking the man from behind as he runs up the river. Handheld camera shake as the camera follows the man. 2. Fire Physics Test Prompt: Cinematic, wide-shot of terrified woman running towards her burning barn. This is for everyone who still thinks Gen3D is useless 🤣 I generated a koi fish with clean topology using Tripo but it was just a static mesh. No rig. No bones. Nothing. I wanted to animate it without touching Blender because I genuinely have no idea how to use Blender 😂 So I casually asked Claude if it could help me with it... And then Claude built THIS 🐟 A fish that swims, breathes, reacts to your cursor and even looks directly at you when you stop moving your cursor. It took a completely static 3D model and turned it into a fully animated fish with a swim cycle and subcarangiform kinematics. It even optimized the model and brought the file size down from 14.79MB to just 4.16MB. And also that water with ripple effects is built with TSL too. 60 FPS. WebGPU with WebGL2 fallback. All Three.js. This was inspired by Marina Budarina's website where I saw a fish swimming across the page. I immediately loved the idea and thought, "What if the fish actually felt alive, more immersive?" So I made it happen. And honestly, this is the kind of thing that makes me excited about what we can build with 3D on the web now. All thanks to AI! So for everyone who thinks you need to spend months learning Blender before you can build something like this, maybe it's time to rethink what Gen3D or AI is actually capable of :D Live: Code:

You don't need to be a 3D artist to start building 3D websites anymore 💛 Built this cool 3D jet drone website in Three.js using Claude Opus 5 and Tripo 🔜 gamescom in < 1 hour. A lot of people still think AI is great for generating code, but not for building something that actually feels polished and interactive or "complex". But it has been changing super fast these days. The model you see here is only 946KB, compressed from its original 13.6MB size automatically by Claude without losing any quality. This kind of intelligence has been developed in many other AI tools for anything related to 3D (except GPT 5.6 sol lol). You just have to describe what you want and they handle everything "engineerly" (that's not even a word but okay :D) Anyway, also you don't really have to learn anything about 3D modeling to create these models. All you need is a good image and put it in Tripo. For this case, i generated model using "smart mesh" feature that generated a cleaner low-poly topology and edge flow. That helps keep your actual 3D asset even more lightweight. Earlier, with HD model feature, my model size with 8k texture was around 60-70MB but with Smart Mesh, it's around 13-16MB with 8k texture applied separately. When I saw the mask "Tribes of the Calf" from Kanbas I knew I had to make it into reality. The jewelry and gold really made it stand out for me. Since Sam Spratt's The Masquerade was revealed, I have been spending time sculpting and dissecting the mask to recreate it in 3D as faithfully as possible. I delved into the creation of this mask for many reasons. I love a good challenge and this mask surely was one for me. Creating something in 3D from a 2D image is not easy, and especially when the source has generative nature, some stuff is hard to interpret, but I tried my best to make sure the visual integrity of the mask is as close to the original as possible. Splitting the whole mask into parts, filling the missing pieces so I can build the textures was quite a lot of work. I tried to present the mask in my own style with a slightly different colorway to adapt to the mask itself. Please enjoy this short animation, and turn on sound🔊 This piece is my statement that I am here to stay. That I have a voice that often feels being lost in the void. That I have been creating and posting digital art for over 20 years now and will continue until I'm gone. I have a story to tell and I want to be heard. The space we have here is small, and is shrinking day by day. It doesn't have to be like that. We need to support each other and push ourselves and people here, otherwise we are all doomed. As Kanbas has put in their observation of the mask: "Inspirational. Emotional. Natural." This is what our space can be, and this is me making a statement with this homage.
