Instead of running around in circles and fat fingering the different plants, it's best if you plant all plants of one kind in one lane. Then, you can click below or above your character and it harvests and plants while it walks twice a second. In fact, the most efficient farm is not a square one, it would be a very elongated, rectangular one that has 19 lanes each 50 tiles long for the 19 different plants, so that you can plant and harvest all 50 of them within 30 seconds instead of within several minutes.
