Turning floods into a future. Built by Megha Engineering, this project brings treated Ganga water to Rajgir, Gaya ji and Nawada. In my view, it is one of the most impactful projects for South Bihar, helping address long-term drinking water challenges.

This is how our raw sewage is treated by our wastewater operators Approximately 34 billion gallons of wastewater and sewage gets treated every day in the United States There are city programs called ‘toilet-to-tap.’ Luckily only a small percentage of sewage wastewater is recycled back into drinking water Most treated wastewater is discharged into rivers, lakes or the ocean The good news is most drinking water in the United States comes from 2 main natural sources: surface water and groundwater Surface water like lakes, rivers, reservoirs, streams account for about 70%+ of public drinking water supplies

We are committed to releasing the 177.25 TMC (thousand million cubic) of water mandated by the Supreme Court and will continue to honour that commitment. It is a balancing reservoir project aimed at ensuring water security. Not even a single TMC of water from this project can be used for irrigation. Its primary purpose is to provide drinking water, especially for Bengaluru, whose population is growing rapidly. We cannot bring water from the Krishna river; the Cauvery is our only source. With a balancing reservoir in place, we can store and manage water more effectively..."

This is one of our flood control projects in Iloilo: a life-saving infrastructure that now protects thousands of Ilonggo residents from floods like those caused by Typhoon Frank in 2008. This was built with the help of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and constructed by Hanjin Heavy Industries of South Korea and China International Water & Electric Corporation. The project includes widened river channels, better drainage, and new bridges built to withstand typhoons. This is a powerful committee as it deals with drinking water and water resources across the country. The scope is wide. On drinking water, the Prime Minister’s strong initiative—the Jal Jeevan Mission—aims to provide safe water to every household. The Government of India has allocated Rs 8 lakh crore for its implementation nationwide. Kerala has performed well in earlier reviews, and it is expected to benefit further from this mission. Swachh Bharat is also linked, alongside wider water resource issues such as floods, dams, and irrigation. Around 80% of water is consumed in irrigation, and 20% for drinking. Reviews cover availability, groundwater depletion, contamination, and adequacy of water for future generations. The committee studies groundwater, irrigation, and disasters like landslides and flash floods. Reports come from the Central Water Commission, flood control authorities, and state disaster management forces, covering all aspects of water in Kerala and across India."
