Starting January 1st of this year, I promised myself I would start a new hobby. I’ve seen a lot of women talk on their love for Pilates on social media and I thought to myself, well.. maybe I should try 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve tried my best to commit to at least one class a week since- give or take some travel and it’s been the best for my recovery, fixing some imbalances, and improving my flexibility. In my opinion- weight lifting and Pilates = the best of both 🌎🧘🏼‍♀️ Here are some facts about Pilates that I’ve grown to learn myself! -Targets Deep Core Muscles Pilates focuses on deep stabilizing muscles — like the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor which support our spine, posture, and overall strength. These are the muscles that wrap around our torso like a corset! -Improves Core Stability, Not Just Strength Unlike sit ups that only work surface muscles, Pilates builds a stable core — teaching our muscles to stay engaged and support movements during everyday life and workouts (like weight training, walking, running). -Supports Spinal Alignment and Posture By strengthening the muscles around our spine and pelvis, Pilates improves posture and reduces back pain, which often stems from a weak or imbalanced core. I always thought my core was strong and doing Pilates consistently has helped me strengthen muscles I didn’t even know were there! Many of us women struggle with lower back pain and Pilates could help fix this issue 😊

#JINYOUNG takes pilates classes! 👩🏻 i don’t like exercising, so I tend to put more emphasis on controlling the amount of food I eat. but i do pilates now 🍑 me too 👩🏻 really? have you been doing it for a long time? 🍑 no. it hasn’t been that long 👩🏻 2 weeks? 🍑 not that short. i’ve done about 20 sessions now 👩🏻 20 sessions~ 🍑 don’t your legs shake when you’re doing it? 👩🏻 oh, they sha… is it only supposed to be your legs? everything shakes for me. 🍑 really? me too. like a newborn foal, i keep going like this… 👩🏻 i need to go home and rest for a bit 🍑 i even thought, do i need to call a driver? should i just call one and go home… 👩🏻 so you do pilates. it really suits you. 🍑 (laughs) really? ah, my pilates instructor mocked me 👩🏻 mocked you? 🍑 my instructor is really funny. while i was doing the exercises like this, they asked, “is it because it’s been a while since you’ve danced?” 👩🏻 i get mocked too. “well, i guess you’re a ballad singer…” “you really haven’t used your body much, have you?” but because they say it in such an innocent tone… 🍑 i thought you were talking about my pilates instructor.

I always thought I couldn’t do 100s. 85s felt difficult. I just kept telling myself once these 85s feel easy and I can do more than 8 for 3 sets then I’ll move to 100s. I kept telling myself it was too heavy.. so it was. If you tell yourself you can’t do something, you can’t. It’s ok to be uncomfortable. I’ve learned this so here I was last week stepping out of my comfort zone. I decided to go for 100s last week and hopefully press it a couple of times. I got it 7 times for the first set but I was gassed out and could not do more. Today I did 3 sets both incline and flat press on 100s. Moral of the story: be kind to yourself and believe in yourself. If you don’t, then you won’t. You are your worst enemy at times, but that’s a decision. Decide to be your number one cheerleader, instead.

mornings I remember being woken up by an alarm at 4am for labouring safe to say I enjoy this a lot more now… but it gives me gratitude to be here In any case, even if you have to be awake for work, take just ten minutes out of your schedule for your self, your energy. Look at the sun, breathe in the electricity and visualise and be grateful for a fantastic day. How we begin our day has a follow on effect that enhances us, if we can begin with intention.

This is going to be a LONG post so please bare with me Today is my 20th birthday 🎉! I can’t Thank God enough for blessing me in the ways he has in the last six months. This is the first and probably not last birthday that I won’t really be celebrating. I am working today and have to meal prep. I went to the gym this morning which was some much needed therapy. So this will be my celebration. I am making this post celebrating all the important friends in my life who have changed it for the best. Mike I have known you for just over 2 years now and you have been around for some of my best moments and my worst moments. From helping me build out my first AR to watching you work your ASS off to build 2 amazing companies that won’t be going anywhere anytime soon with someone like you as a leader for them. Thank you for being there for me and encouraging me last year when I would send you dry fire videos. You don’t know it but I was going through one of the hardest seasons of my life and the encouragement you gave me ment the world and helped me. You were one of the first people to really motivate me to lose weight. Thank you brother Havoc 2-1 Thank you for all the encouragement and advice you have given me. When I posted that range video and you RT it commented and followed me I didn’t sleep AT ALL that night. It was the happiest I had been in a while to see someone who I looked up to recognize me and the stuff I was doing. And without you doing that I would never had found KingWash and gotten all the coaching he has given me. You motivate me and help keep me going. Thank you brother Wash Without you I would probably be heavier and weaker. And not a very good shooter compared to where I am at now. I truly mean it when I say you have changed my life in ways you don’t know and I can’t express online. Getting me in the gym and lifting. giving a kid with zero structure in his life, meaning and a structured path to follow and chase a dream is something only a few people in life are blessed with and I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me. Thank you brother Parker Geurin Thank you for being a role model to me. You are such an amazing father and family man and the positivity that you give is amazing man. Don’t ever stop being you and letting your light shine. And thank you for all the encouragement and kind words you have said to me, it truly means the world. Something special happened yesterday (vulnerable post) 🥹 My podcast, ‘The Imagination’, got recognized and awarded within a business leadership group I’ve belonged to for 5 years called the #AreteSyndicate where I’ve had the opportunity to mentor under Andy Frisella and Ed Mylett. It won’t be out until December 6 in theaters but it’ll be perfect for everyone to see with your families around Christmas. I closed 3 major deals as a result of an event I attended last year 😌 It’s one thing to attend a high profile event in your niche, take pictures and show you were there, it’s a totally different thing from being able to close deals, or for that event to have a positive life changing impact on your career. September last year, I attended the Africa Money & DeFi Summit - Accra Sept 24&25 2025 and thanks to the event, i met a lot of thought leaders in the industry (Web2 and Web3 incisive). I was opportune to be a speaker at that event, and while I made the most off my 20mins on that stage, I even got more opportunities during the 15hours I spent outside the stage. This same event will be happening 3rd & 4th of October this year, and I realized some people from here will also be attending. Here are some tips I followed that helped me yield good results from attending the event. These tips can also be applied to other tech events. ————— 1. Research and Plan Ahead: I was able to familiarize myself with the event schedule, speakers and exhibitors. Africa Money & DeFi Summit - Accra Sept 24&25 2025 always share this info with everyone who registers for the event at least 1week before the event. Thanks to this, I was able to check out some of the speakers on LinkedIn, and even scheduled meetings with a lot of them before hand. ————— 2. Network Strategically: Prepare your elevator pitch, and also have your business cards ready. For every person that reached out to me, or people I reached out to during the event, I was able to hold conversations with genuine interest in their work and was always willing to share what I do. ————— 3. Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with industry news and trends. This always help when you engage in meaning discussions with fellow attendees. As you can see on the short clip attached to this tweet, I was talking about Real Yield, and this was just before it officially became a buzz in the DeFi Space. I used the info as well as others to helped lock down conversations. ————— 4. Dress Appropriately: Always aim for professional attire for events like these. People who attend these events come there to do business, so you’ll always find them dressed professionally. Incredibly grateful to all of you who have reached out, offering prayers, encouragement, and advice, and asking us what specifically to pray for. I recorded this update a couple of days ago when I happened to already have my hair and makeup done for an interview with my friend Eric Metaxas . (NOT gonna waste a good makeup day, right?!? 😄 ). Right now I’m sitting here undergoing my first chemo infusion. So I will humbly ask for prayers for a complete response. I can tell you that God has been very good and that I have experienced minimal side effects so far and the Basham family has been enjoying great peace. The Psalm from my Bible reading plan today was providentially apt: “Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, ‘I am your salvation.’” Trusting in the One who fights for me to fight this cancer.
