Here, I completely disagree with this reductionist perspective of Mr Mbeki on geopolitics and the conduct of states. In this interview, he narrowly and in a very myopic way imagines a battle ring with SA and US as fighters to the dead end. The inherent dynamics in contemporary geopolitics are more complex than this simplistic articulation. SA is not interested in a fight with the US but is unapologetically in the fold of global anti-imperialist efforts that find expression in different platforms like BRICS+ to marginalise the imperialist agenda. The belly of imperialism is the US. The global anti-imperialist efforts are gaining significant momentum that threatens the post WWII configuration and spread of global balance of power, which was later punctuated by the collapse of the USSR. The beginning of the 21st century marked the incremental and gradual decline of the US's global influence. Hence, the nervousness that gave birth to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN (MAGA) policy. MAGA is an attempt to crudely and erratically reassert the US as an unrival global hegemon. With how contemporary global politics are shaped, this agenda is doomed, and it will definitely fail. The US and its fragmented West allies are the axis of imperialism, and the geopraphic location of the anti-imperialist agenda is mainly in the South. The South is not South Africa, but countries located in the Southern Hemisphere. Closely monitoring the development and the relentless anti-imperialist efforts in the South, on all fronts - economics, politics, technology , and diplomacy it is quite apparent that the US is confronted with a strategic dilemma and challenge unlike the bipolar period. I think it's interesting that we're starting to see different types of specialists emerge in the field of Generative AI technology. We are seeing a new generation of world-class storytellers. Some are immaculate at vibe coding workflows and building infrastructures. Some are incredible at AI visual effects and AI cinematography. And some are just maestros at composition and world-building. And of course, many of us dip into all facets. We are witnessing the emergence of new creative and technical roles that didn't exist yesterday, and that's very exciting. And now we are starting to see the benefits of AI as an additive to existing workflows. I hope to work with many of you for the upcoming productions we have in the works at Promise.

I had a good meeting with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. We discussed the continuation of military support and direct investments in Ukraine’s defense industry. Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting our state and is preparing the 26th package of military aid for Ukraine. This support helps save lives, and we deeply appreciate it. We also talked about the negotiations in Istanbul and the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the U.S. and European partners. We share the view that pressure on Russia is crucial if they refuse to agree to a ceasefire. In July this year, Denmark will begin its Presidency of the EU Council. We are counting on their support for Ukraine’s European integration, which we discussed during the meeting. I thank the Government and all the people of Denmark for every form of assistance to our state and for their unwavering support of our people.

We spoke in Berlin together with other leaders, and today our discussions were also very substantive. I am grateful to the Netherlands for all the defense and political support Ukraine has received since the beginning of this invasion. I would like to express special gratitude for the recent defense package – €700 million for defense. Thank you. We appreciate your responsible approach to the current moment in global politics, which is reflected in your support for the PURL initiative, enabling us to purchase American weapons. These are necessary items – first and foremost air defense missiles and other weapons that are not available in Europe and that we can only purchase at this time. We are also working toward joint defense production, in particular the production of modern drones in Ukraine and the Netherlands. Ukraine is defending its independence and the lives of our people, and therefore every step of support right now carries particular significance. I thank Dick Schoof and the Netherlands for their continued support of our people!

Simplicity is at the heart of great software. This is one of the reasons why Claude Code has been sticky for me. As a builder, I love planning and brainstorming, and this is now a key focus of Claude Code. I use Shift + Tab a lot to cycle between brainstorming, planning, and execution. This functionality provides the appropriate interface for me to either be very involved or less involved as I please. This works particularly well when building out new and complex features or entire new projects. This saves a huge amount of time. It allows me to tune Claude Code to execute and build more effectively. It also builds a loop of trust, and I often (surprisingly) find Claude Code asking for clarifications when it's confused. Coding agents don't normally do that. I have shared before on the power of brainstorming with AI for longer times. Try it and you will not be disappointed. Vibe coding is fun, but pair it with intentional development cycles, and you watch how far you can take a project with coding agents today.

As a builder, I love planning and brainstorming, and this is now a key focus of Claude Code. I use Shift + Tab a lot to cycle between brainstorming, planning, and execution. This functionality provides the appropriate interface for me to either be very involved or less involved as I please. This works particularly well when building out new and complex features or entire new projects. This saves a huge amount of time. It allows me to tune Claude Code to execute and build more effectively. It also builds a loop of trust, and I often (surprisingly) find Claude Code asking for clarifications when it's confused. Coding agents don't normally do that. I have shared before on the power of brainstorming with AI for longer times. Try it and you will not be disappointed. Vibe coding is fun, but pair it with intentional development cycles, and you watch how far you can take a project with coding agents today.
