37 years ago today, Widespread Panic kicked off 1989 with their first show of the year at the Uptown Lounge in Athens, GA. Just two weeks removed from their New Year's show at the same venue, the band opened this Friday night with Space Wrangler and stretched the evening into two encores. Just like the clip I posted last week, there is no audience tape from this show, but we've got this entire show on video.

25 years ago today, Widespread Panic took the stage at Dixie Fairgrounds in Winston-Salem, NC for Jomeokee Jam alongside Emma Gibbs Band, King Konga, and Bloodkin. The festival show featured several notable guests, including Daniel Hutchens and Eric Carter from Bloodkin who sat in on the rare Quarter Tank Of Gasoline - the first time Panic had played the song in 7 years, a gap of 871 shows. David Blackmon on fiddle joined the band for the final three songs of the 2nd set: Driving Song, Breathing Slow, and Ain't Life Grand. Here's a clip from the fiddle-fueled finale of Ain't Life Grand.

Phil Lesh and Friends took the stage at the Beacon Theatre in New York City 24 years ago today for an Unbroken Chain benefit concert supporting New York Relief Efforts after 9/11. The show marked the final night of Phil's Fall 2001 "Paradise Waits" tour, featuring an all-star lineup of Phil Lesh, Jimmy Herring, Warren Haynes, Rob Barraco, and John Molo, with Greg Osby on saxophone and special guest Bob Weir.
