Ten days later, rescuers suddenly detected faint human voices coming from deep underground. Two workers, Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan, were found around 170 metres underground, where an air pocket had apparently formed between the water and debris. They reportedly survived on limited food and water while rescuers drilled through the blockage. After days of difficult rescue efforts, both workers were finally brought out alive.
