Two Unpopular Words from Jesus

What a great message to begin the day with. Especially in the hedonistic times we live in. All around we see that not denying oneself of temporal pleasure has a end-goal of misery and death.

I will continue to tell that restraint (a form of denial) is like a muscle. Like a muscle, exercise makes it stronger.

"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Mat 16:25

This week in studying Zechariah 11, we said that the True Shepherd has "2 staffs". One for comfort and one for correction". Jesus said some very comforting words and some very correcting words.

Amen that's right brother... I believe that that's how a man receives the new birth. You deny the life of the first birth and receive the new life. I believe the self is the one st Paul talks about in Romans 7:15 - 25

Gayle Erwin (Servant Quarters) does an amazing 4 part teaching on the Nature of Jesus. He displays Him as the only truly "others centered" Person, ever. This reminds me of Gayle's message. Painful as it is, it's true. Preach it.
