So this happened this morning. The screws holding my Holosun 507 COMP on my Springfield Armory Echelon sheared off and sent the optic flying right into my hat cam. Unfortunately, it wasn’t recording. This is the first issue I’ve had like this with any of my Echelons. This one has the most rounds on it since I’ve been training and competing with it since mid last year. I mounted the optic around November using blue Loctite and torqued the screws to about 15 in-lbs. I didn’t shoot much in December and January due to an injury, but since then I’ve put roughly 2,000 rounds through it. Mostly 124gr and 147gr. I’m not an engineer so maybe someone smarter than me can tell me what the failure point was? Obviously, the screws sheered but wouldn’t that say they were taking the brunt of the recoil instead of the recoil lugs?

I lived and worked with an 8th-grade education until I was 51 years old, something that is typical for Scientologists. Going to college in my 50s has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Getting an education has opened my eyes to a whole new world. This is from my keynote speech to the Quest for Democracy in Saudi Arabia Summit, where I talked about the human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia under the Crown Prince and why people in the media and politics have a responsibility to hold him accountable and not cave to the pressure and allure of a big paycheck. Here’s the “full context” since Barrett stans want to flip out in my comments. He said it and then used it as a way to flirt with Dee, which ALSO pissed me off. I don’t think Barrett is homophobic. That was not my point. I’m not an idiot. He has mostly gay friends. But for someone who has so many gay friends, he should definitely know the optics of saying something like this. And using the word gross in reference to cuddling with a gay person. And I’m allowed to point that out. Thanks.

Baylor 6’5 Sophomore Cameron Carr has been one of the most impressive prospects in this years NBA Draft. Carr has been one of the biggest underclassmen standouts averaging 22/6/2 on 56/42/82 splits while also averaging 2 BPG. Standing at 6’5 with a 7’2 wingspan Carr has the frame to play multiple positions in the league, and there aren’t many elite athletes who are as efficient as Carr is from three and at the rim. Carr is shooting 70% at the rim and 42% both on extremely high usage. Carr has the ability to create off the dribble from the mid range or from three and is also an extremely talented off ball shooter who can shoot contested with efficiency. At the rim Carr uses his athleticism to be a lob threat, a cutter, and he also has the ability to create his own look at the rim. Carr is also the only player in college basketball this season to have 20 dunks and 20 threes, and has made a strong case in being a lottery pick.

I donated one of my houses to the homeless. There is only one catch … if they don’t do my training, they get evicted. If they do the training, they get 28 days of mentoring to rebuild their life, and free food and accommodation. These two gentlemen have been homeless a long time. Stayed at my house. Now have both found long-term accommodation and job interviews. This is not government-funded; it’s all paid for from the profits of my other houses. I’ve partnered with Bethel Lighthouse Church, which is overseeing everything, and it's a dream to partner with. My mission is to get veterans off the streets, help rebuild the lives of the broken, and ultimately end forced homelessness in Great Britain forever. We don’t need to wait for the government, we need the entrepreneurs to step in 👊🏼 #homeless #propertydeveloper

This type of training is what we call Differential Learning (DL). Using DL for warm-ups is a highly effective strategy, as it “opens up” a player’s system degrees of freedom. It can also be an excellent tool for light training days, especially for recovery, helping players restore a wide range of movement solutions post-competition. When performing DL activities, we want to encourage as much variability as possible. A shooter may shoot out of different stances (e.g., feet wide, feet narrow, staggered, one leg), with different release speeds, varying arc heights, etc. There are an endless number of ways to do this. As the shooter performs their DL tasks, they should continually change their range and location (even if this means taking one or two steps between every shot). The passer should also pass from different angles, from different locations, and with varying velocities and spins.

This is the work of my friend on an SPG from the 56th Mechanized Brigade. They’ve been using them from dugouts throughout the brigade. Moving howitzers is too dangerous, so they try to change positions as little as possible — it increases their chances of survival. That’s why these positions must be extremely well built, and the howitzers need additional protection in the form of cages. Obviously, sacrificing mobility isn’t ideal, but it allows artillery to remain viable and effective. Artillery works well with drones and will continue to be a crucial part of the battlefield for years to come. I’m currently fundraising to provide the brigade with two excavators. They’ll be used to support artillery, drone operators, command and control positions, and infantry. Excavators help our troops stay safe under the worst bombardments. 3-13-13 I began my journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Throughout my entire journey in BJJ, I’ve learned more about myself than ever expected. The latest chapter in my BJJ path has been having my own students. It has been my great privilege and honor to teach Jamie Mathias and Jake Luhrs and Josh Middleton the martial art. Not only did these 3 people start off as musicians I look up to, but now I am so filled with joy that they’re close pals of mine. The blue belt is a tremendous deal - and Jamie without a doubt is an exemplary martial artist, musical artist, and friend who without a doubt deserved this promotion. Congratulations to one of my best pals on earth, Jamie!!

NEW: Couple finds an abandoned baby with the umbilical cord still attached on the side of a trail in Katy, Texas. Pure evil. “I noticed two little feet moving and then my husband was right behind me with the dogs and I yelled to my husband and I'm like, ‘Oh my God, a baby, a baby’” Daniela Fedele said. The baby was rushed to the hospital where she is currently listed in “good” condition. Surveillance footage shows someone abandoning the baby. Police have since launched an investigation to find this person. They say the individual is a “young Hispanic or white male, with a slim build and a fair complexion.”

People always ask me how I’m so good at pull ups given I’m 280+ pounds. My simple answer is bc I started treating them and training them just like my barbell strength exercises. Here are 3 variations to improve muscle density and strength The key IMO got real density should start at training muscles at end range. There are 3 approaches that I use and that I program for others. First, you’ll see a traditional rep. The important thing is the rep is using full range of motion. The traditional rep allows me to utilize the stretch shortening cycle to improve my elastic strength. Next, you’ll see me using Deadhang Pull Ups. Think of this like a paused rep on bench or squat. You are eliminating the stretch shortening cycle and improving rate of force development WHILE your feet are suspended and the lats are fully loaded and have tension. This is a key distinction from the 3rd approach Power Pull Up. This is the same idea the I use on the Power Row, or some may be more familiar with the Pendlay Row. The difference you will see is I’m standing on a pad. This allows me to pause at the bottom BUT my lats are lengthened but UNLOADED. There’s no weight or tension when I start and initiate my pull up. You’ll even see I remove my fingers completely got each rep Using the all together in an intelligent program that organizes stress and variation appropriately is the key to maxing your pull up potential.

It’s impossible to sum up in one post how I feel tonight! I knew this day would eventually come, but it still doesn’t make it easy. I have loved this career! Thank you does not even begin to justify my gratitude to my family, my command staff, all of the sheriffs office employees, all of my fellow law enforcement and to my community. This has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life, especially the last eight years as Sheriff of Pinal County. Not only is 2024 coming to an end tonight, my career Law Enforcement has come to an end as well. We gave it a good run! God Bless and Happy New Year!
